I for one am hoping it gets up. Seems V’landys has done well but I imagine he will be unhappy he had to step in.

The next round of TV rights could be most interesting
CBS now own 10 and they targeted sport, mainly NFL, to lead their revival in Network TV , they have the capacity to broadcast live and stream live.
Disney plus starts in November, Disney majority owns ESPN, they could also be a player”

The Broadcast landscape had changed, the current circumstances have changed it even further.

Foxtel in major trouble and kayo as well, the NRL issue with 9 will probably be overcome, but maybe not.
A-League and Super Rugby in a great deal of trouble.
Both the sporting and related broadcasting landscape will not be the same again.

Yep. Everyone is in financial pain. Sports, broadcasters, sponsors, fans!!!! No one will have the money they used to. Rugby and soccer are in big trouble. NRL & AFL should be ok but will have massive loans to pay off with reduced revenue. As in all crises though there will be some winners. Stay tuned!!!

Saw this coming... more to come. Will be interesting to see how this plays out. Going to be a tough battle as he takes on many who have held power and self interests who may not be willing to let go. The inept have had the light shone upon them through the recent mismanagement of the announced return date. V’landys has stepped in beautifully to fix that mess but has taken notes on those responsible and will/has dealt with them accordingly. They have got the right man for the job I believe ... up for the fight and knows what needs to be done. If he succeeds, and I believe from his performance with this last issue he can, then the nrl and rl in Australia will be big winners.

It is probable he thinks that the current circumstances are a great opportunity for reform.
I seen new “execs Under whatever title come in and see what’s wrong with a company but miss what’s right.
He may go too hard too fast.
Not too sure all the clubs will survive till the end of 2021.
