Wow. This Gabba ground "crisis" had certainly put the aflw and the AFL in general in the spotlight here in south east qld at least. All over the radio ... even nrl friendly 4gb? Is talking about it and call back is around who is going .

This has certainly opened up the debate re a stand alone stadium also with the lions and AFL using this as ammunition already.

Secretly, I think the AFL could not be happier with the decision from a marketing and lobbying point of view. And they can come out clean saying how upset and angry they are lol.

Also wonder if it will increase suns lions game attendance ?

Is that thing actually still going. Who is in the final? Heard nothing in the media lately.

I actually can't see what the Gabba has done wrong. If the ground is not ready it's not ready. And an ashes test match far outweighs a little game of fumbling females.

But seriously, I think the AFL are probably happy as I said but can act all aggrieved. It's really a win win for them I feel.


From all the media today .... and boy my confirmation bias was in overdrive with how much there actually was... to the point I lost count of all the goal posts for a bit....I think the point of conjecture was that they re sowed a section of the pitch and that needed 6 weeks to set in . With the ashes 8 months away and a season of AFL to be played anyway ... I am not sure why an extra week matters unless they bury the pitch or something. Anyone got more collateral on this?

Well yes. It was not on both Abby stab and osher and on ask kip and lutsy this morning. And on gold fm and hot tomato. ABC and 4gb yesterday and talk back taken on both. Also on the this morning. So plenty of media. Also on social media as well.

Geez Freddy is now chasing radio stations and social media for a snippet of fumbling news.......lolololol. All this has done is highlight to the non fumble brainwashed that the AFL are not as big as they think they are in QLd
They cannot bully other sports & think they can get their own way .
Also it shows that the game is as,it always should have been is being played at one of the already 3 stadia that they have in SEQ.
No need for another when there's adequate grounds around if one is not available
Fumblers see it different .
Normal folk see there's no need for wasting $$$$ on another

I'll go out on a limb and say 18000. And I'm thinking I may be under estimating.

18,000........lolololololololololololololololololol. It'll be nothing like that but it's pointless making a prediction as they're now giving round figure 'estimates' that are ........let's say.........ahem......interesting.......lololololool.

If it's a curtain raiser to the men's game my bet is the crowd figure will be counted at Full time so that the majority who are there to watch the men's game will be counted as part of the women's crowd .
