I think as the the digital media age keeps diversifying then its going to be a lot harder to keep track of viewing numbers .
For anyone who has fox...you can watch at home but also have 3 other mobile devices you are allowed to watch on ( 3 registered but only two can be watched at one time .
So for me I have my iPhone
1 friend has his iPad
Another has his android (Samsung)
So that's 3 people watching a game (if I watch on TV at home),that means from 1 set top box there's 3 different viewers at 3 different locations & I have no idea if those numbers will ever be counted as viewers .
Seeing as about 30% of the population have Fox .....& it's believed that the vast majority have it for sport & plenty would share the fox go app .as I do, then as a guess I'd say about another 15-20% could be added to the sport viewing numbers

Just on that, you raise a good point re people watching. If you have a ratings monitor for fta you list who is watching... so there might be guests that are added or to may be the only one watching (registered) and 4 people in the house doing other stuff. Whereas is fox simply how many TVs are tuned to a show rather than people watching ?

it would take most almost 180m to stream an AFL match, around 90 minutes for a league match

you told me just told the other day that quarters have almost 10 mins of extra time.
Either way, the games as boring as batshit. How anyone could through a match is a complete mystery.

the quarters are 20min plus around 10 min time on of extra time. This equates to 4 quarters of 30 min = 120 mins.
If thats beyond the attention span of RL fans then so be it

How long for the 3 breaks? If anyone was stupid enough to watch an AFL match you would need to sit through the breaks. They would probably be the most exciting part.

good point the telecast is a lot longer
AFL breaks are generally around for quarter time and 3rd quarter are 5mins each
Half time is about 20mins
so you are looking at approx. 30mins give or take
