It is well known that South Australians cant see any difference
between the two flavours of Rugby. When Laniger was asked by
a friend 82 years old "What IS the difference between Rugby
League and Rugby Union" he could recount the events at Rugby
School in the reign of William IV ( who's missus was Queen Adelaide),
the book "Tom Brown's Schooldays" the bust-up about 1905 (?) and
the resultant demographic split.
The old guy then asked "But what IS the difference? If I see rugby
being perpetrated on TV how will I know which variety it is? And
does it matter?"
To these question Laniger could only answer "Buggered if I know
and "Of course not"
