Oh dear .
Drastically

Lol,HOW
how?

6 hours of NRL on Saturday counts as 3 games watched. 6 hours of AFL counts as 2 games watched. Both sports were watched the same but the NRL gets a 50% ratings advantage.

If you're going to count 'most watched' as a cumulative total you cant ignore time watched. Otherwise the figures are meaningless, as the Melbourne cup v cricket example shows

I'm pretty sure I destroyed this absurd argument last time .

Lol it's a bizarro theory .

So if you go down this road of working out hrs v game time then by your theory RL got the bigger deal .
If you reduce the time to per minute .we are more valuable
& iirc that was scoffed at by you lot .

As I've posted the $$ value per minute on here before

So by your theory you win the ratings ..we win the media rights deal .
Lol just lol

that doesnt destroy the theory, it's just a different aspect of media rights. Price per minute is based on the advertising dollars charged in each market, on advertising space in each program, on available content overall etc....

That is completely different to the amount of sport watched.

But you still wont answer which is more watched, the Melbourne cup or the cricket

Lol
But but but but but but .
You can't have it both ways .
You either compare the games ratings for the year or break it down in sections...ie. minutes & which which is more valuable .
RL wins ,
So The but but buts come out .

The AFL have about 9 hours of a Saturday though. time enough for more than 3 matches +. You've used that many but, but excuses your resorting to reusing them.

what?? :[]

which is most watched, a 2 hour NRL game with 1m viewers or a 3 hours AFL game with 1m? Length of time has to come into it if youre looking at most watched over time, which is basically what the cumulative ratings are

Length of time? So what your now saying is that AFL will be paid slightly more than $5b for 23 hours of programing a week , over the next 5 years

While League will get almost the same amount of money for about 13 broadcasting hours each week, over the same 5 year period ?

So what your saying is your game is worth about half what ours is?

there are far more factors that effect the TV rights than just length of the game, as I mentioned in a post earlier. RL have SOO, internationals, and the most expensive TV advertising space in Australia.

This has to do with claims of 'most watched'. Well each AFL game is watched for 50% longer than an NRL game. Therefore if RL won on raw ratings by around 10%, and the AFL was underrepresented by around 50%, the AFL was easily the most watched sport on TV.

Thanks for coming

Jesus h
It's incredible
You want to apply some theory that has you in front ..laughable
Yet if we do the same re tv deal ..it's not right .
Grow up .
You win tv deal
We win ratings .
If you want to start the crap about time
Then we break it down to $$$$ per minute ..we win .

other factors? 3 origin matches per year and a few other matches . The RLWC was a separate contract. So when we factor in the pre season games and the other AFL shit. Your game is worth about half ours.

150 to100 = 1/3

I'm glad you finally can agree that our game is twice as valuable as yours.

And to arrive at an average. If you have more for a period you have to have less for a period.

The highest rating program this year - Origin1 -2. Australian Open - 3.Origin 3.

The league loonies claim victory due to scheduling but why head to head or games played at similar times and conditions the afl wins easily nearly every time
Australian sporting sponsorship
AFL excess of $50m
A league $30 million plus
ARU $27 million
NRLOL $25 million
