Sydney 7's
the World teams of 7's hit the shores of Sydney this past weekend ....
now why the crowd was over 35k both days..
the people at the ground seems to be the only ones that have cared...
Weekend STV #Sydney7s #FoxSports Sunday 26k Saturday 34k
reminds me of the A LEAGUE
/ SUNS / LIONS / GIANTS

Re: Sydney 7's
Wow!!!!!!! I actually like Rugby but those figures are pathetic. So much for 7's being the saviour of the game. Back to the drawing board for silly Billy!!!

Re: Sydney 7's
Not the best results but I agree sevens is one of those things that you have to be there to enjoy it.
Lets see how the 10's go this weekend.
What was the ratings for the 9s?
Anyone catch the six nations this weekend? 190,032 total attendance for the 3 games, almost half of the entire attendance of the last RLWC
. Good to have international rugby back.

Re: Sydney 7's
The 9's got 183k and 159k.....up on last year and quite good for pre season fluff.....and of course absolutely smashed, belted and annihilated the 7's. Oh...and the 6 nations.....na didn't know it was on. The ratings for that would be in single digits but keep up the good work pal!!!!

Re: Sydney 7's
think you are telling some fluff with those figures there grammar queen. Crowds are down, interest is down. That's why they have to move it here. I mean after only 3 years it's died off
We both know the 6 nations would have annihilation the ratings of that poor excuse of a tournament that's even despised by some of the games greats.
190k attendance for just 3 games! League can only watch on in envy.

Re: Sydney 7's
Sorry, but 7's,9's, 10's, it just aint proper Rugby when it's all said and done, good quick entertainment and a good tool to introduce newer nations, but that's really about it.. The longer versions of both codes are the best.

Re: Sydney 7's
sorta on subject...
anyone get a glipse of the WORLD 10's in Brisbane of RUGBY UNION..
Disaster of a crowd for what teams were there.. love to know the viewing figures...
it was 35 degrees though...
but cricket hits that level of heat and still does alright.

Re: Sydney 7's
20k on the first day about 30k the next. Not to bad considering the conditions and a competition that was just bit of fun and bit of preseason for the super teams.leeroy*NRL* wrote: Mon Feb 13, 2017 12:56 pmsorta on subject...

It'll be interesting if they expand on the teams but it wasn't too bad for what it was.

Re: Sydney 7's
I recan 10's are better than 7's
7's there is a try every 2 seconds and little to no defense.
I was expecting high 40k crowds for both days..
I think they will expand, and include some pacific nation teams..

Re: Sydney 7's
Don't think many people were expecting that considering this is the first time there's been a 10's comp with pro teams.leeroy*NRL* wrote: Mon Feb 13, 2017 2:30 pmI recan 10's are better than 7's

There are a few 10's comps around but it's usually just a bunch of boys getting a team together like the Phuket 10's which we go to most years. Great fun, well not when you are hungover lol

Re: Sydney 7's
yeh fair enough..
I think a few changes and it could be a alright fixture..
for such a short game, got to stop the time wasting at scrums and line outs.

Re: Sydney 7's
Is it a new concept?? If so wont it need time to grow, even SOO in its maiden year got a crowd in the 2nd game only git 1600 crowd. It grew very big thereafter. If its new wont it need time to establish particularly in such a congested sporting landscape?

1 game 1981..25k
1982 first time it was a 3 game series
Game 1 27k
Game 2 .19k
Game 3. 20k
