A lot people try to make out AFL wants to coexist with other codes but everyone knows their true agenda. To make AFLs following the same in NSW and QLD as it is in all the Southern states like Victoria.
AFLs very own Comission chairman Mike Fitzpatrick basically said this in an interview on ABC.

I think they would have to put a lot more first grade AFL teams in NSW and QLD to really achieve this. Because at the end of the day it is 4 AFL teams vs 14 NRL teams in the same region at the moment.

Yes and every other codes agenda i suppose is to quietly fad away in the southern states, get real they are all after as much share of the market they can get AFL is no different to any other code, only a very ignirant person would believe otherwise.

Just because they dont say it doesnt mean its not their objective, besides of which when Dave Smith was in Melb for SOO he said something similar.

I thought Smith said he would like to see nrl as the number 1 code or something like that. To knock AFL off.

Fitzpatrick got one thing right - the big advantage fumbleball has got over the 'collision' sports is the mothers think it is a 'safer' option. So there you have it - the boss of fumblehouse concedes that RL and RU is too hard to play for the little softy mummies boys who take up the fumbling, bumbling stumbling game. The mummies prefer their soft little marshmallows play kick and giggle because its an easier, softer less confrontational game - God help the pettles when they get to the real world.
