Like the NSW thread, taking into account all factors such as crowds, memberships, sponsorship, to ratings, media interest and participation numbers etc, etc, how would you rank the footy codes in Victoria?

1. Australian Football
2. Soccer
3. Rugby Union
4. Rugby League

3 and 4 would be close, however I think Union is still in front due to its superior participation numbers through local leagues and schools. RL still has a long way to go to catch up in this area.

You see unlike you I admit soccer is ahead of League in Victoria. None of the bullshit like you seem to want to do with saying AFL is ahead of soccer in NSW.

If you put it in a perspective as a whole, afl is a lot closer to soccer in nsw as league is to soccer in vic

Gee. I would not know how to differentiate ru and rl. There is some presence of union in some private schools but afl is still thr major sport there too.

Storm are bigger than ru team but rl has very little grassroots.

Baseball has a much bigger presence in victoria .

I wonder if gaelic football would be bigger than rl re grassroots and even american football. The gap between soccer and either rugby code is massive that if you are going to put them in there is an arguement to put in gaelic amd gridirion.

Afl
Soccer
League
Union

I have league in front of union because of crowds and ratings RL gets over union from the storm averaging higher than the rebels, soo averaging around 50 plus thousand and the kangaroos averaging around the 30k mark for a decade or so. The ratings on TV have RL only behind the afl, juniors would have league at 3rd or possibly 4th so IMO RL would be ahead of union.

On the club by club scene, storm would be ahead of heart and rebels only with all afl and victory way ahead.

Really can't argue with that, as long as the storm have success and the rebels being hopeless (though they do have a strong squad this year) RL will always have the upper hand.

What's surprising is though when it comes to grassroots level it's the opposite. The rugby comp here is getting stronger and stronger since the rebels start. The league comp however is shocking and we are getting a lot of RL boys coming over. Don't blame them I mean who wants to play on a Sunday?

with all the success the storm are having they dont seem to be attracting much interest as to the swans & AFL in NSW

in nearly 100 years there have been 5 or 6 players from, not all born in victoria to have played in the NRLOL at some stage!
if they werent having the success they are the storm would be even more irrlevant like league!

You have no idea what the storm or the vrl do in regards juniors, doesn't stop you having your say tho no matter right or wrong. In your opinion you'll be right anyway.

How long have the storm been around compared to the swans .

Why has nsw been producing a large numbers,Afl players for nearly a century and Vic only produced a hand full of league players in a century!

There would have been more played drafted in last years afl draft from nsw than Victoria has produced league players born or from Victoria in nearly a century!

But but but, news corp tried to even make the storm popular like they do the broncos, but whoreing them out in all their news publications

Lol doesn't explain why nsw has produced AR players for over a century & Victoria has produced only a handfull of league players in that time

Cause no one from the RL states wanted to ever move to Victoria, it's you lot invading us up here.

Just rack off and take your silly little Victorianisms like bogan instead of westy, your slab instead of carton, and your footy instead of knock on ball and stay where the fark you emerged from.
