I'm eagerly awaiting the grand final entertainment this year. The stats don't lie, there's a massive chance the AFL entertainment will be absolutely bungled in some form or other. A massive chance!

I am willing to bet any fumbler here that more people in Melb will watch the Storm than people in Syd watch the swines

Wouldnt surprise me one bit. The nrl show their gf during prime time for a good reason. They capture a far larger occasional viewership audiences because watching tv at home on Sunday night is what people do. Far less people watch tv on Saturday arvo, the figures prove it every week.

Having said that I still think the AFL gf will win overall despite this massive disadvantage. Unless its a massive blowout and the dogs have got nothing left in the tank

lol not every one can just swap shifts like that spazza, eg i cant im in the middle of a swing at work.
people have other commitments.
saturday afternoon is a ratings dead zone, & sunday night is known as prime time for a reason

its more of a case your looking for but buts to justify the prime time vs non prime time.

pretty funny how every match for the finals the AFL has flogged the NRLOL in and yet the ratings for the grand finals will be similar.

I think it is the viewer who does not necessarily follow the code but if home would watch it. Not the die hard who wouls swap a shift to watch it.


I think melbournians love of sport will see more people in melbourne watching it as the abovementioned time slot. Trust me there would be few grand final parties or bbqs in melbourne. People will be home and as it is sport they will likely tune in.

In sydney likely the same. A long weekend and people would likely go out... but if it is a rainy day and people are home a few will likely tune. For each code people in non traditional states for the main arent going to change their schedule. But a lot of melbourne people will be home sunday night. I think the AFL will oneday go this route but hope not. They have enough money so no urgency.

AFL i think will win the overall ratings for australia. Storm and sydney i want to win.

I think you may be right re storm getting higher ratings in melbourne. Than sydney in sydney. Makes sense really.
