Dearest Members and guests,
Beaussie as we know him, is a man who makes the most grandiose of statements about the AFL and its cwowds, members etc...most of which eventually come to be known as mammoth furphys
Today i think its worth our time to assess a lil addition he's recently made to his signature which states:
"The total number of AFL club members equates to one in every 28 Australians"
Beaussie, can we make a small addendum to your quote noting that:
the total number of AFL club members is not equal to a number of people who pay and support the code but includes community groups, sporting associations and schools, and therefore the statistic quoted means absolutely jack diddly
??
You can put it in fine print if you like, just as long as its in there

We all know that clubs are "reluctant to provide a breakdown of just who its members are."

So thanks man, we wouldnt want to be misleading the public now
And who can remember how the AFL counted these doosies in their official numbers?

So now wookies finished his lil

let's get this thread back on track. How on earth can the AFL state that one in 28 Australians are members when their membership includes sporting associations, schools and community orgs?? I'm afraid the AFL may need to understand that 'schools', nor 'sporting associations' nor 'community orgs' are not counted in the census as 'Australians'. So their one in 28 Australians are AFL members is a bunch of bullshit.
Furthermore we also know AFL clubs "are not keen on giving any sort of breakdown on their membership numbers".
The whole thing is shonky as all fukk. Always has been. And these dingbats in here like wookie don't have the foggiest!
Beaussie add the qualification to your signature bro. It's best that way
Yours sincerely,
King
Now either Provide something useful or pissoff out of my forums and eat shit wookie.
Love you bro

It would be no different in NRL - perhaps you should give a detailed break down of who has memberships before you make sweeping statements - otherwise I call this thread nothing more than BS!

The NRL released a broad number for each club with no fixed definition for each.
Its not like the NRL doesnt have its own problems when it comes to clubs defining membershipss in recent times either.
It would be good to see the revenue stream from memberships - I think that's a better indicator.

you have to go digging through their annual reports. the ones that are available or buy the ones that arent.
but from memory the revenue isnt much
