So in Sydney NRL heartland, we have more commercial radio stations broadcasting AFL than NRL.
Yep, in the NRL, just Triple M and 2GB in Sydney.
NRL heartland :_<>
How about Victoria/Melbourne? Do any radio stations broadcast NRL in Melbourne? What about Adelaide and Perth? Silly question right?

The_Wookie wrote:worth noting that this deal is estimated at 10 million a year - double the last deal, and doesnt yet include non commercial radio coverage (ie. ABC, or indigenous radio etc).
True, you wouldnt expect the abc or indigenous networks to be able afford the sort of $ as to what the commercial net works can

How convenient of you to leave out ABC 702 which always has live Rugby League coverage. But lets not let bullshit get in the way of a good story hey
Also every single one of the stations you mention have Rugby League sports shows.
2SM has a daily afternoon shows which focuses mainly on Rugby League as well as on weekends too.
2UE also has a Rugby League show.
So yeah I think you need to do a bit more research.

Unfortunately it is not even true. He left out 702 which covers Rugby League.
And every station he mentioned has Rugby League sports shows.

It is good to be able to watch and listen to AFL right across the country though.

You can do the same with rugby league too anyway.
Is even better that you can go to a lot of other countries and people actually know what Rugby League is, unlike AFL.

I am talking Beaussie not wookie. Maybe you should read properly.
As for the future, you mean how the Northern States have 4 AFL teams vs 14 NRL clubs. With the two QLD AFL clubs a laughing stock at the moment. =D> =D>
Sounds like a good AFL future.
