with no AFL in Melbourne this Saturday the Minnowbourne storm are playing the Gummysharks in prime time that night,
its first vs second, so youd expect a decent turn out prehaps even something close to a sell out at aami park
are thee sharkss still major sponsor less?
MELBOURNE Storm skipper Cameron Smith says his club will accept the AFL’s scheduling free kick that’ll see it have the town all to itself this week.
The AFL’s controversial decision to introduce a pre-finals bye week means Storm will be the only show in town this week as it looks to secure the NRL minor premiership.
Ladder-leading Storm will face second-placed Cronulla at AAMI Park on Saturday night in a final round blockbuster.
To emphasise the point, Storm on Monday held a media conference at the MCG in which Smith and teammate Blake Green kicked footballs — both Sherrin and Steeden — on the hallowed turf.
They were there to promote an offer in which AFL club and MCC members will receive 50 per cent off reserved seat ticket prices at AAMI Park on Saturday night.
It is part of the club’s grand strategy to maximise its reach on a rare non-AFL weekend.
“It’s going to be a big week for the Storm and it’s a huge game for us,” Smith said.

25k tops. for all the crap the bumsnifing fans give the GWS the storm should be selling out the ground!
a top class venue, no AFL this weekend. half price MCC & AFL club members, the storm are top of the ladder vs second, a good successful decade form should have built up a decent hard core following

You do realise leagueiscrap that you just make yourself just as bad as them by making such comments. Just because they do it, doesnt mean you need to always return fire with the same level of crap.

As Fred said - have you noticed none of the tin foil hat wearing brigade have commented?? It's because they don't care about facts they just want to talk shit don't fall for it - liking the Storm it's going to take away from your love of another game!

It's hilarious these fumblers having a conversation with themselves about the evils of RL. Obsessed a little fumblers? Go and grab a Sherrin and fumble it amongst yourselves for a while, that might ease a little pressure on your 'brains' lololololol

Poor Ol Terry is just making shit up now Fred and I haven't said anything negative about RL, but you certainly have proved my tin foil hat remark was accurate!

I cant see what is wrong with promoting a game in an area where it has a small following. Giving away tickets, half price, two for one etc ... makes sense to me.
