yeah really pissy cat, like what other sports?pussycat wrote:I think its a problem in all sports. Some though just chose to look the other way.
Only sports of recent history in RL and soccer and the reason is the size of the teams - soccer 11 = half the side. RL 13 = over a 3rd of the side. Be unlikely for it to happen in AFL 18 = over a quarter, RU 15 = one third. Also RL and soccer blue collar backgrounds makes them more pre disposed.pussycat wrote:I think its a problem in all sports. Meaningless, honestly, blue collar lol that is just funny.Swans4ever wrote:Only sports of recent history in RL and soccer and the reason is the size of the teams - soccer 11 = half the side. While I take your point - I think the size of a team is important - baseball not all the players maybe on the field at once - some don't get any time - again NFL not all the players on the field at the same time - AFL you would have to get to at least 8-10 players just too hard, also there is positions all over the field again too hard to organise - RL is one dimensional so 2 or 3 players could just about get you over the line. Soccer if you got at the goalie you could just about get the result you wanted.post_hoc wrote:Meaningless, honestly, blue collar lol that is just funny.Swans4ever wrote:Only sports of recent history in RL and soccer and the reason is the size of the teams - soccer 11 = half the side. For a start the biggest match fixing was the Black Sox scandal in Baseball, From memory that involved 6-7 players and a baseball tea has a 20 man roster.
There have been instances in American Football with god knows how many players on a team.
Appears you don't really understand baseball. If it is 1 game you have a starting picture, several relieving pitchers and closing pictures in the bullpen, so unless you have the manager who will not change pitchers, then you need at least 3 pitchers, then you need infielders, plus as most games are called by catchers you also need them as a pitcher continually shaking off a catcher will look very sus.Swans4ever wrote:While I take your point - I think the size of a team is important - baseball not all the players maybe on the field at once - some don't get any time - again NFL not all the players on the field at the same time - AFL you would have to get to at least 8-10 players just too hard, also there is positions all over the field again too hard to organise - RL is one dimensional so 2 or 3 players could just about get you over the line. I don't think getting has even crossed the minds of the RL boys.post_hoc wrote:Appears you don't really understand baseball. Same as football, I assume you don't want to get caught, so it looks rather obvious for the keeper, they are one of the worse to have.
League with interchange you can't have only a few either.
What I have learnt to my confidence is that you would be terrible and fixing a game, which is a good thing
