You cant say its the biggest event. It may be the most watched on TV but it doesnt get the crowd of the AFL GF and from what Ive seen you can still buy tickets so it's not like its a stadium capacity issue

You may or may not be aware.
but we play Rugby League on a Rectangle Ground.
and attendance wise you cannot fit as many people in the crowd.
MEDIA BUILD UP, RATINGS THE MONEY IT GENERATES
ITS THE BIGGEST
Giddy up not long to go!!

Err, your game hasnt sold out 1 day from kick off. The AFL GF sells out well ahead of time and fits 20k more.
So you may get more viewers on TV, which is hardly surprising given when the game is shown, but crowd wise youre not even runners up

As an Aussie rules fan, I can't deny, I don't mind catching a glimpse of the SOO series yearly.
But then again, heaps of non RL do. Because of the hype, excitement and event.
I'm from NSW, been living here half my life but I want the maroons to tear the blues a new arse hole like they have been 9 out of the last 10 years.

It does not seem to have the same build and hype of previous years for some reason?

they are empty most of the time so the capacity of the rectangular ground doesn't matter

Lol stamp those feet dumbo .
The crowd tomorrow night will dwarf any crowd in Fumble history in Syd .
Maybe you'll feel better if you screech GIMMICK GIMMICK a few times .

I don't think that is correct AFL crap. You said tomorrow night would dwarf any AFL crowd in Sydney. I am pretty sure there have been bigger AFL crowds than the 52000 expected if sell out. Maybe you should have said 'this year'
It is interesting though ... Rl when played in certain conditions ... Soo, gf etc cam pull a reasonable crowd but home and away struggles. It is a serious question I ask as it has generally been argued that the reason for poor crowds is that rl is a better experience when watched on TV... However the best games such as soo and gf draw big crowds ... Whereas you would think of it was best enjoyed on TV most would stay home and get the best experience. Now of course you can't beat the atmosphere of a big g crowd so the question is how do the nrl get people to turn up to home and away games as well?
