Bigger crowds = bigger competition = more people watching on tv = move Over RL A-League is now in 2nd (behind AFL). Better watch out or BB, RU, Basketball, hell maybe even tiddlywinks will overtake them at the rate fans are deserting!

those new center link laws cracking down on bums on welfare are forcing some of those limited NRLOL bogan fans back to work & back in touch with reality, who are finally realizing how boring League really is

what do you think about both of us getting a new stadium
Latest rumour is that it will contain safe standing at one end

Not big enough for the eels seeing as they can pull over 50k against certain sides for club games.

35,000 would be ideal for both teams 32,000 is passable.
We will squeeze more in with the safe standing, give it a few years and I reckon you eels boys will jump at the chance to utilise the safe standing.

Not worried about standing room as they can put seats back in for League and Union games.
Just the capacity, the eels can get some massive crowds and as been told before by fans of all the sports, no one likes anz, so they need to do a good job on both because if they just fix up the one stadium (parra), they will be locking out thousands because some will only go to the local ground as they hate anz, fix that joint too and I could see a 30-32k seat stadium working for normal games while taking the local derbies and big finals to anz.
It's going to be interesting to see how bad the eels crowds fall next season when they become nomads again, on the plus side, a good opportunity to take the game to places, maybe a game in San Fran where the hayne playne has done a little ground work already or into asia as has been suggested.
The wanderers should have no problem, they can take their games to Penrith or somewhere else as they haven't got that tribalism up the top in the a league like the NRL does in the west with other teams and their territory.

The issue is we can't take it to 'smaller' grounds with over 18,000 members we can't go to Penrith as they don;t have enough seating. Likely we will play in one of two places ANZ or Spotless.
The large crowds you get though are only for games that you have reciprocal rights for at ANZ, so unless you grant those rights to those teams at new pirtek I can't see that being the problem. If you want to keep doing it, then you will keep playing it at ANZ (hopefully now the swans and cricket have buggered off we can get the bloody thing into a rectangle.

I think both Wanderers and Eels member numbers will drop, as they wont have a 'pressure' to reserve seats when/if we play majority of games out of ANZ, but gross numbers I don't think will fall (assuming both clubs have decent seasons, well we have if you do as well)

The eels have never had a problem selling out the stadium no matter what size it's been since it was built in 1986, the record is just under 28k against Souths. The eels can pull some really good crowds, they used to when playing at the SCG.
You seem to think the eels are the sort of club that will hover around what the figures they have now, I dunno why, the eels are just turning the corner after a near decade of abject failure and their crowds still hold up against any of the crowds you throw at them from their heartland.
If Wests fans or bulldog fans have right to turn up to anz and watch the eels take on their team, all good, it happens in other sports and no one bats an eyelid, it's why the vfl then AFL have been so successful in a way in building their crowds when they were stuck around the same average for a fair while, they made the changes and their crowds grew. The NRL and its clubs are just starting to work all this out. Not my fault if the soccer mob don't want to make a bit of extra money by going to anz, they say they could but they have never tested the waters, so how they can say this doesn't add up without actually giving it a shot.
What's to lose if the stadium are going to pay, play one match against Sydney and see what happens.

It should never have been allowed to be an oval, it just didn't make sense anyway you looked at it, the joint pleased no one when it why trying to please everyone. Knock it down and build Sydney their version of Wembley, Millennium, Lang Park, MCG, Old Trafford, the crowds for all 3 rectangle codes will grow.
The swans have the updated world class SCG, the new mob have a new stadium in two suburbs one in Canberra and barely play in any of them, they should make their mind up where and what they want to be.
Time for the cities favoured codes to get some shiny new grounds as has happened everywhere else all over Australia when it comes to new Cricket-AFL ovals.
