The AFL club & the A League club in Brisbane are teaming up

Is this Desperate times

Brisbane Roar and the Brisbane Lions have put aside their cross-code differences in an attempt to boost their flagging crowd numbers.

The two clubs announced an "historic collaboration" on Monday that will see 10,000 free tickets offered on a first-come, first-serve basis to members of each club to attend a forthcoming A-League or AFL match.

Lions members will get the chance to see next weekend's clash between the Roar and Melbourne Victory at Suncorp Stadium, while Roar members can head along to Brisbane's AFL battle with Collingwood in round eight.

It is a canny move by two sports seeking to carve out a niche in a market completely saturated by rugby league following last year's all-Queensland NRL grand final.

Time will tell if good or bad idea but certainly out of left field - Maybe St.George should look at this with the Swans so they could claim 1 st RL club to get 50k members.

But but but but the sokka crowd tells us that Sokka is taking over .
Then you have some poor misguided fumblers who claim that AFLOL has or is taking over QLD .

The truth shall set them free .

Brisbane is a bandwagon city, when the lions won those premierships they were bigger than the broncos, when the roar was winning they had large crowds, the broncos has been consistently successful, when they miss a few finals series the crowds drop away & alarm bells ring at the broncos & heads roll

I think the verdict of cross membership is going to take a lot longer than 12 months to decide if good or bad. Get back to us in 5 yrs.

Yeah and see where one team played at the time and what had happened not long beforehand to piss everybody off.

Anyone who believes AFL and the lions made qld an AFL state back then or now has rocks firmly wedged between their ears.

Rocks between their ears like you?
Nobody's saying qld is an AFL state but Brisbane is a bandwagon city, who ever is winning at the time the city gets behind them!
But with all the work the AFL has done in qld the last 20 years AFL is deffinatly growing

Growing .
All they need is a rigged comp so the kitty Kats can win some more flags .

Lol
That won't be happening soon l
AFL house is too busy trying to keep the Swans on top .
Trying to make sure that the midgets & thuns are on the up..

Fuck the heartland teams .
Fuck the lions .

Lol .
You talk shit as usual .
Since 2005 the Broncos home crowd has never been below 30k .

No bandwagon for RL in Qld .
It's the dominant sport .
By a long way

I love the Lions but they have one of the worst lists in the league & injuries to key players already.

Brisbane is a bandwagon city & the Lions will barely win a game this year or even be competitive. It scares me how low there crowds are going to be & how much money they will lose.

Will they ever be good again!!
