Probably never, I think at best AFL could find a niche market over there and get home crowds of 20k or so but that would take years-decades- and even then television ratings wouldn't be great, IMO if the AFL were going to launch a NZ team it should've been in place of the GC or GWS.
You OK ????

Not like you to make sensible posts .

AFL keep trying but most Kiwis have little respect for AFL which is the real reason.

Timezone means nothing. Perth and Sydney play each other in many sports no problem.

lol wouldn't you expect a decent crowd there spazza, after all every NRLOL team is playing there!
aparently 37k turned up, in a 50k stadium :(/

so a short tournament that has every NRLOL team playing cannot sell out the stadium!

finally good to see the NRL has changed ground spectator counters

Yeah why not, could always do with another game or two being amongst the highest rating and attended games each year, some sports gotta fill the void and I don't see fumbles and bumbles stepping up :)))

Haha AFL is the king of gimmicks.

THE AFL INTERNATIONAL CUP THAT AUSTRALIA IS NOT ALLOWED TO COMPETE IN. (Apparently it is so terrible not even sbs want to show it) =D> =D> =D>

THEN YOU HAVE AFL INTERNATIONAL RULES WHERE AFL PLAYERS PLAY ANOTHER SPORT WITH A ROUND BALL BECAUSE NO OTHER COUNTRY LIKES AFL. LOL.. (Does not get any worse than these two lame attempts)

Believe it or not the international cup is a decent standard, the competing teams take it very seriously.
Lol .
Really .
I suppose there's not much difference between one bunch of uncos fumbling a Ball & failing to kick straight & any other .

Well 2 of Rugby Leagues best players couldn't compete with those "uncos".
While not ONE AFL code switcher has successfully made first grade NRL.
