Question regarding simulcasting?

C9 and Fox both show the game . Fox will get about 1/3 of the audience and C9 will get around 2/3. But Fox will pay just $25m for its 1/3 and C9 will pay over $150m for its 2/3. Doesn't seem right, what am I missing?

Do Fox only show the Ch9 feed? If so their costs would be negligable

going by the AFL on a Fri night its about 800k on 7/7mate and 300k on fox . Throw in a couple of hundred regionals but $5m from fox and $35m from 9 a year does'nt seems right.

It's a Dam good point.

Looking at it overall, FOX got a Stunning Deal..

Will also be interesting to see how much this lifts the Audience..

Simulcasting was never worth much. I told you that from the start and you people just went on your merry old way believing in unicorns, netflix, BeIn, Optus and whatever else fucking popped into your tiny little heads.

Going by the AFL semis Fox makes up a tick over 25% of the total.

So if Ch9 pays $35m a year for a match and then sells the simulcasting rights to fox for $5m . C9 has reduced there outlay to $30m but will now only get 75% of advertising revenue . It would seem someone has seriously facked up or, adding up ratings by including FTA + foxtel is another AFL myth!

It was more a case of how much fox would lose if they didn't have NRL.

But counting two games on a Friday as one is all above board. :_<> :_<> We seen this year when your games were played in isolation and didn't involve the Broncs how the ratings went. I expect the AFL to hand your arse back to you this year. Apparently judging by the Australian networks,so do they.

What I think is mind boggling is a lot of the fans thought he was a great signing .
Some even think the NRL was crazy & regretted letting him go .

So what are the NRL to do, count one game and completely ignore the other as if it was never played or watched?
