Well another *AFL INTERNATIONAL* last night

The all Australian AFL team
Up against Amateur irish team

*part time players*
Thats right part time players...

Yes the game is abit different
Soccer ball used
Smaller field
3 less players
Goals installed for a potential 6pt goal

But really is much the same
With a few other minor rules added..

Yet the AFL'S BEST lost..
And its not the the first time..
Its a current trend for the AFL boys. .

Are these guys athletes
They cant even beat these part timers..

I actually watched abit of the replay..
I found it faster then AFL
A none of this time wasting
Out of bounds crap and u get the ball back.

It was a non stop affair

It has nothing to do with rule changes. You spend your entire life using an oval ball then you train for one week with a round ball to vs guys who have used it their entire life. If they played with an AFL ball the irish wouldbt even score

And its only a soccer ball surely the AFL guys should still mop the floor with them..

Tackling.. hand balling... running.. marking..
Short kick distances the same..

Where the AFL guys lacked is kicking it long.
But either could the irish.

Are u saying they cant kick a soccer ball 20-40 meters

I watched today.. they seem to do that fine..

Give Aus Rugby league teama soccer ball and vs amateurs
I think ill adjust and win..

Thurston may even slot a conversation from the sideline
Or cooper cronk cross field kick to inglis..

The key to a game like AFL is being able to kick pinpoint passes at both short and long distances. It takes a lot of skill to learn how to do this with an oval ball. You need a completely different set of skills to do it with a round ball, and you cannot learn it in a few weeks. The Irish may be amateurs but they use a round ball their entire lives. Ive watched heaps of these games and the ball is bar far the bjggest advantage in the game.

theyve failed at the highest level. Champions of RL and RU could barely catch an opponent or get a possession

Simple fact is they played at the highest level & were lauded by media ,coaches etc & were amongst the highest paid .
