6000!!!!!!

That's right just 6000 bothered to turn up to Newcastle v Raiders in Canberra, at a time when Leaguies gloating about SOO is at an all time high - this is the true cost of SOO, lack lustre performances with sub par crowds. But 6000 is just embarrassing for a club with 20 yrs plus history and silver wear in the cabinet! But before we get the but...rain, but....cold, but...traffic ( not that we expect that in Canberra). 52500 braved rain, cold in Melb that's right roughly the same crowd in Brissy for SOO3. Again just embarrassing!!

But but but........isn't it funny you always have an excuse for crowds but you don't allow anyone else to offer opinion or excuse for TV ratings! You really are one eyed and hypocritical!

Not really a surprise when it was close to 5 degrees and against a small far away club.

GWS get crowds like that in Western Sydney when the sun is out and the weather is perfect and the game has been promoted for weeks.

Last I heard the Raiders aren't an expansion club but a club in RL heartland who have 20+ years of history and premierships! It's laughable you compare the two! It's like comparing Geelong with Melb Storm!

Then take in the wind chill factor and it probably felt like 0 during the game.

Weatherzone has 4.3 as the lowest temperature in Canberra during the game (at 9.39pm). about the same temperature as the inside of the average fridge. Yahoo Weather has the lowest temperature in Melbourne last night during game time as 13.2.

Canberra gets cold in the winter guys...I mean very cold.
and melbournes winters are such a tropical paradise

Compared to canberras nights in the middle of winter? You bet your arse they are. Especially when you consider chill factors. (Canberra also holds the record for the coldest temperature recorded in an australian capital city. (Lived in Victoria for 14 years before i came to adelaide - 3 of which were spent delivering the Sun, later the Herald Sun, at 4am on a weekday on my stupid BMX in the darkness around Seaford)
both Canberra and Melbourne are freezing in winter, but Melbourne is protected from port phillip bay from the isic winds off bass strait if you want the full effect of the chill factor from the winds off bass strait, head down to Geelong or Tourquay.

canberra is bad for wind chill factor is because of the height of the location to where it is built

melbourne aside, towns like Geelong and states like Tasmania are freezing as well yet games constantly have better turn outs than what Canberra does
