More people go to AFL in Darwin than NRL in its heartland!

Hard to believe isn't it but last night 11873 turned up at Darwin's TIO stadium to watch Melbourne v West Coast - Yet in WIN stadium in Wollongong they get 11813. That's right St.George-Illawarra (actually two clubs one a foundation club the other has the vast southern coast to it self) up against the Cowboys and they couldn't beat the crowd at Australia's smallest capital and a place Leaguies like to claim dominance! But the interesting thing is TIO stadium holds only 14k which means it was close to capacity whereas Win Stadium holds 23k which makes it less than half full!!!! Will RL crowds continue to slide????

Lol .
The usual SOO rot about crowds .
Many players out on rep duty ,so the crowd wasn't too bad.
Incidentally the last 3 games (2 aflol 1 NRL) there before this one funnily enough the NRL had the biggest crowd .
Geez RL in Melb just beat every game of Aflol for crowds this yr ,yet somehow an 11 k crowd in Soo time is bad .
We take the good with the bad.
You gain plenty from rep footy .
You also lose in other areas .
It evens out .
But the big big bonus is the meltdown/ rant threads / grasping at straws by the fumblers during SOO .
It's nearly over ..just breathe swines .
The big bad Soo is nearly over .

Yep and has been said before - 2 games of RL this year over 50k and both are SOO - hahaha yep without SOO RL is going down hill!!! By the way the games you have referred to have not been over 10k. And the record for the ground is now held by AFL - that's a disappointment eh crapper!

Lol I will explain it for the terminally stupid .
Swines is having a go at the crowd size of an NRL game DURING the SOO period .
You know the same time every yr you mongs get all excited about NRL crowds dipping in numbers .
I already explained that there were players out on rep duty .
Lol like I said you are seriously dumb .

Who cares, Parramatta are playing Penrith in Darwin in a few weeks anyway. That game will probably get a crowd bigger than one of the clubs in Sydney get that weekend too.
Just like the eels played a game in Darwin last year.

Who give s a fuck whether its origin period or not, the NRL season crowds are for shit at the moment. Its all very well for you lot to trott out "but we have Origin" whenever the hell you feel like it, but you have to be able to cop the negatives of that too. Crowds are one of those.
Crowds were already at their lowest average in the last decade before the Origin series, and the trend has simply continued anyway.
Lol .
How many times have I posted that there is good & bad associated with SOO .
I accept that ,& I do accept the negatives .
Jesus ..are you for real .
Fuckin hell KE is right .
You are cranky

Wow and Souths vs Auckland got over 20,000 in AFL heartland Perth the other month too. Almost double your Darwin game and a record

Penrith vs Souths and Manly vs Cronulla both had close to full stadiums this weekend. But that never gets mentioned does it.
I'd me more worried about money drain GWS Giants crowds. They promote the shit out of their games more than the NRL does here and still getting little interest or community support.

Not the same comparison. If the Perth game outdrew a game in Melbourne, that would be a comparable situation, and even then its only tenous. let me know when your NRL game in Darwin outdraws a game in Melbourne on the same weekend. Thats the apples for apples scenario.
It is when Rugby League gets next to no coverage in Perth and does not have team there.

For the simple reason swines is on about crowds .
Wow who would have thought that they might be down during the Soo period .
You mob only go on about it feverishly every yr .
So yes talking about crowds being down ,then soo is the major factor over the 6 week period .
