Tonight at anz stadium on a fine Sydney night. Premiers and one of the most followed teams vs another Sydney side who has been very successful over the years. Both sides have many of their stars back, nrl Sydney derby in heartland.
Should hit 30k or 40k attendance right?
Huge atmosphere also? Right?
Will the swans game tonight vs interstate side in Sydney beat it?
Like always, atmosphere and attendance will be higher.
Image the storm attracting more in Melbourne then a melb AFL derby with a bigger atmosphere. Haha. I wonder when that will be.

surely 2 heartland teams in Sydney should outdraw the Swans v a Vic team. Imagine the Storm outdrawing Hawthorn v Geelong

Come boys don't be to cynical, big Sydney blockbuster like tonight's game should get anywhere from 8 to 100000 with an atmosphere to rival any lawn bowls comp anywhere in country nsw.

Flicking through both channels and the atmosphere also once again was much better on the AFL.

at the local tonite, a bunch of us was watching the swans vs tigers on the big screen. 3 bogans 2 with mullets & 90s faded broncos & maroons shirts walk in and have a whinge to the lass behind the bar. she comes over to us and asks if she could change channels, we said of sorry but no. giving her the unfortunate but amusing task responding the bogans request. their reaction was the highlight of the night! kicking the nearest barstool throwing hands in the air and storming out of the bar cursing and swearing :_<>

Hahaha that is funny! But the surprising thing is they weren't beaten by like 2 or 5 or even 10k fans but 23k - ANZ has rail right to its doorstep - no rail to the SCG yet again the Swans crowd is massive! Another interesting fact is that last nights crowd is the 2nd highest crowd for ANY club match in Sydney this year (top is Bulldogs v Souths 40525 on 3 Aprli at ANZ). Hahaha so much for Sydney not being interested in AFL!

90k is rugby league's best crowd this year ! whats the AFL's?
4m viewers was the best rating for Rugby League this year . What about AFL

Well when you fumblers post personal bullshit stories ,I have the right to call them out on it .
Better still .
I flew down to melb yest .
Went to the local .
They had the big screen on the NRL .
In the corner they had an old B & W 14 cm tv showing the Swans game .
324 people were engrossed in the NRL game .
2 people were watching the swans game .
In walked 3 bogans who wanted to watch the swans on the big screen ,so they could BOO that uppity Goodes bloke .
They asked could the swans be on the big screen .
They were told no. So they started trashing the place .
They then stormed out & sat outside crying .
See I can do it too .

you would have a point except the crowd you are referring to is your biggest game, while we havent had that yet. You would also have a point if you were referring to more than a single event. Comparing the crowds for both codes shows the NRL has only had
2 crowds over 40k this year, and 7 over 30k. 4 of those were the Broncos with their 2million supporter base :_<>
The AFL have had 4 less rounds but have already had 3 crowds over 80k, 5 over 70k, 7 over 60k, 12 over 50k,
32 over 40k
So, how about addressing last nights crowd comparison in Sydney?

who am I to say your story is BS (other than your absurd exaggerations). I've also been in a sports bar in Sydney where a reasonable proportion of the patrons were watching the AFL. I'm sure the same happens for the NRL in Melbourne

Definitely .
Was in Crown casino a few yrs ago & more were watching the NRL on the tv than the AFL game on one of the others .
Did it mean NRL is taking over ...no .
Probably meant that there were plenty of interstate visitors in the bar
& as for absurd exaggerations .
Lol look at dumbos posting history .
That's why any personal story he tells is treated as 100% bullshit
