Was watching a very old game on Foxtel the other game - a game from the 80's the players were a normal build, the football was normal proportions, the rules made sense and there was a crowd present. Fast forward to today, players are either obesely over weight or unable to cross their arms due to too much weight work, the game is hopelessly over governed with rules impossible to understand - they stop play every 2 min to either watch the TV replay or wait to start a scrum, which players don't even get into position for because it's feed through the second row - there is very little crowd or atmospher because everyone watches the game at home and the ball is the size of a beech ball all makes for one gigantic snooz fest!!! Only games worth watching are SOO and that's only 3 times a year (unless it's decided in game 2 which means game 3 is just boring!)

Well I stay awake with a game of Rugby League but can't stay awake if AFL is on.

The commentary in AFL is boring too, as well as no cheerleaders, no sprints to the line. No hard tackles. Is shit. All AFL culture does is make me feel embarrassed for Australians.

The Manly Sea Eagles always get priority over the Swans when playing at the same time on screens at pubs I go to.

Why, because people find the Sea Eagles and Rugby League more exciting to watch.

The Swans TV audience would be less than half that of the Sea Eagles in NSW. They are'nt even shown on Ch 7. 7mate lol

And like I have said before, if AFL was that good.. other nations would actually play and watch your sport. Just does not seem to happen for you lot does it??

again, if the AFL is a boring game, and the NRL more exciting, why does the AFL draw well over double the crowds of the NRL?

It doesn't say alot for your game when, in its own homeland Rugby League atracts more viewers at both the ground and on TV. So something must be boring but I think SGT Bilko might have got it arse backwards.

Thx AFP - there's a concession there that when you go to the pub AFL is being played there along side RL - but you know in Melb the AFL's on the TV but guess what there's no RL. This means by very inference AFL has wider appeal RL is confined to a section of NSW/QLD (for crapper - generally speaking) where there are some very narrow minded individuals - in Melb that no matter where you go there will be RU, AFL, Cricket and even soccer but people just don't have the slightest interest in this yawn fest of a sport RL! Hahaha silly whinging Pom AFP just because you don't like something doesn't mean everybody else feels the same as you!
