State of Origin discount tickets galore

It appears the NRL strategy of increasing prices in Sydney to subsidise tickets in Melbourne has been a massive fail.

2 tickets now for $100 on offer and desperate text messages being sent to fans urging them to take up the offer.

Wow, so nose bleeds get a tick for 50 bucks each, tell me BeA, when do the AFL sokka union or League want you to spend 50 bucks on the worst seats in the house outside a grand final?

Never, that is, aye.

Nice attempt tho.

so much for SOO being huge, struggling to sell out!
id suggest you do some research on some average AFL ticket prices for a normal H&A game for a cheap seat

A lot of Rugby League fans aren't like the AFL crowd in Sydney who are only wealthy white inner city trendies.

I think it is is great that a big event like Origin can be affordable to everyone.

And guess what, it will probably get more viewers than your AFL grand final again lol. :(/ :(/ =D> =D>

Here are a few of the jealous rant threads from last yr .

Just a week out from the opening game and 8,000 tickets still remain unsold.

I thought this was supposed to be the biggest and most supported game on the RL calendar?

every yeah the SOO rates well & sells out & the rest of the country has to listen to the basement dwelling virgins beating their chest how their game is the biggest in the country. then when the normal NRL comp starts up again all the crowds and interest disappears, which proves this NSW VS QLD STATE VS STATE is nothing more than a great marketing gimmick and how little people care about league it self

SOO game crowd 52,111

now the NRL games from this weekend so far
Penrith poke group vs the Paramatta poke group 19,141k at fittingly centerbet stadium

2,276,000 avg tuned into watch the socceroos play at 8am on a saturday when most people are asleep piss drunk from friday night

and then

769k avg (75.6% share) tuned in again to watch them play at 2am on a weekday

all on sbs too

ive heard of super league matches from the uk being televised at that sort of time slot on 9 barely drawing 5-10k

State of Origin is a joke
Postby QueenslandISAFL » Thu May 29, 2014 1:27 pm

clubs sending in their players for a novelty game only for a few of them to return back injured.

It also leads to in-balanced games during the state of origin period with players being left out of their sides for origin, causing teams who would usually win to lose.

So to sum everything up in one little bubble

Origin creates an un even competition and now poor clubs like the storm will stuggle with their player/s being injured

Wtf you guys talking about. State of origin stopped 20 years ago.

Anyway leagueisshit is correct. Besides the SOO is the only good thing going for RL. Is pretty much holding it together.
