AFL the sport of coward punches and dirty elbows.

I saw this on the news the other night. I don't think there is a sport with more dirty unsportsmanlike play.
Guys doing elbows in opponents ribs, hitting players when not ready. At least when Rugby League generally had fights it was toe to toe. Dog shots were always very rare.
THE COWARD PUNCH SEEMS LIKE THE PRIDE OF THE AFL. NO SUCH THING AS CONFRONTING A PLAYER WHEN THEY ARE FACE TO FACE.
If an AFL player went into a Rugby League match pulling stunts like that, he would last two minutes.
If points for missing
Constant drop balls
Skin tight shorts
And wresting each other from behind is not bad enough. You now have coward dog acts a big part of playing AFL.
I guess AFL knows it will never be as hard as NRL and NFL codes. So it thinks dog shots might improve it's image of being a soft sport..
But this is wrong, nothing tough about coward hits.

Ahh but pete, you see the problem is the occurrence rate. The AFL has always had the cheap shots at high rates. In rl the cheap shots are well policed by the players on the field who will generally bash the living snot out of folk who think they can get away with cheap shots. AFL players don't generally do the same unfortunately so the cheap shots just keep on keeping on at a far higher rate than all the other football codes.

That guy got 13 weeks shithead
& the pleasure of being hunted by the Wigan forward pack for the rest of the game
Smashed everytime he carted the ball up.
In the VFL he would have been lucky to get a suspension

What can I say, AFL is a very tough sport where it is 360 degrees so you can get hit on any angle when you are not expecting it. Where as in Rugby League you see the person coming at you

not sure what the issue is. You need to be thick skinned to play in the AFL. Many players use cheap shots to induce a reaction or to take their opponents mind off their game
RL players are probably too thick to understand

The issue is AFL promotes that it is ok to dog shot someone to the head when they are not looking. There is nothing thick skinned about that.
If it is so ok, how would some of you AFL fans feel if if someone punched you to the head when your not looking? It might give you guys some sense but I am sure you would not like it.
The reason it does not happen anywhere near as much in Rugby League as AFL, is because players in Rugby League would never stand for it.
I can tell you now if an AFL player did constant elbowing and shoving on a Rugby League field or a coward hit like he does playing AFL. He was would probably end up in hospital on life support from the retaliation punches he would receive.
Really shows the weakness of the actual game of AFL.

Well said mate. No other sport in the world stands for it.
Even fighting sports like the UFC have less dog acts than the AFL.
AFL really is for pussies.. =D>
