NRL releases $50 family ticket deal

Fans of every NRL team in Sydney will have the opportunity to pre-purchase family tickets for $50 this season.

All Sydney NRL clubs have agreed to release a $50 general admission family ticket for selected games and venues – and in some cases they will be even cheaper.

That means four family members can attend games for less than $13 per person.

It is part of the NRL's push to ensure that games are affordable to everyone in the community, with NRL CEO Dave Smith determined to make it as easy as possible for families to attend rugby league games.

"We are ensuring that a day at the football is not just an exciting experience – it’s very affordable as well," Smith said.

"In fact, if families plan their day and take advantage of the tickets and travel deals available, a day at the football can be better value than just about any other form of entertainment.

"Families are the lifeblood of our game and we are going to work with the clubs to encourage them to attend more and more games. The best way to do that is to provide a ticket which enables the whole family to go to games together."

FAMILY TICKETS: HOW THEY COMPARE
Sydney NRL games: Family of four $50 (pre-purchase)
Sydney FC: Family pass $70 to $120. Western Sydney Wanderers: Family pass $80.75
Madame Tussauds: $89 (online) and $136 (on the day)
Luna Park: No family pass. Four unlimited ride passes $183.80 (online) and $199.80 (on the day)
Sea Life Aquarium: $89 (online) and $136 (on the day)
Taronga Zoo: Family pass $124.20
IMAX: $94 for feature film
National Basketball League: Sydney Kings family pass $65 to $124
AFL: Sydney Swans $55 limited edition family pass for Saturday game against GWS Giants

Mr Smith said individual clubs were providing special deals every week to fans pre-purchasing tickets. Some of these provided tickets for as little as $5 a head.

The NRL already offers free tickets to more than 100,000 juniors who play rugby league, along with volunteers and other officials.

They can redeem a free ticket every week of the Telstra Premiership under the PlayNRL program. More than 10,000 free tickets have been issued to juniors in the first six rounds of the competition.

Tickets for games at ANZ Stadium included train travel at no additional cost, a deal which also extends to fans and members of the Broncos, Titans and Sharks, with their special G Train and Shuttle Services.

Fans can also bring non-commercial food and drinks into most grounds.

Is a good idea. Rugby League has a lot of working class fans without lots of money. Unlike AFL and Union in Sydney which is more for just the rich anglo white collar city trendies and nobody else.

Nothing wrong with giving a large support group of Rugby League good deals so they can enjoy the sport they love.

Not in NSW it hasn't. Why do you think GWS Giants are going so shit in support in Western Sydney??

AFL in Sydney is only for the wealthy white trendies. Facts are facts dickhead. Your sport fails miserably to engage different cultures and classes.

Millions more fans :(/ :(/
Haha then why does AFL have no supporters outside of one country?? =D> =D>

Why did the AFL grand final get smashed in the Grand Final TV ratings by the NRL? :(/ :(/

Why is Rugby League more popular than AFL in every single country outside Australia?

AFL IS JUST A PATHETIC SINGLE NATION CODE. YOU GUYS WILL NEVER GET A FOLLOWING ANYWHERE ELSE LOL.  :\: :\:
