4 AFL teams vs the NRL this weekend

So this weekend we see the following matches: Carlton v Richmond and Hawthorn v Geelong, 4 AFL teams from Victoria playing at the MCG. We already know the first game got a healthy crowd of 83k. The second crowd will likely be 65k+

So my question is will these 4 AFL teams get a combined attendance above all 16 NRL clubs combined this weekend?

What say you NRL fans? 4 AFL teams > 16 NRL teams combined?

24k is dismal is it. What do the NRL average in Sydney? 15k or less?

It wasn't 24k .

Yet every yr the biggest crowd in Syd belongs to a NRL club .

Meh, bigger crowd yesterday and there will be a bigger crowd on Monday for the eels game. These games were talked up when they sold out a 20-25k stadium, since moving, they are only growing.

the biggest average belongs to the swans every year despite playing only 2 games vs a team from the same state

And it was 23,774, a healthy turnout in constant rain

Yes that may be true to an extent yet the single thing you missed that I stated was ........

Since the NRL sides have started moving their games to bigger stadiums, their crowds are now growing. My team will get around 40-50k on Monday if the weather is ok, they haven't played in front of crowds like that since they stopped playing at places like the SCG years ago.

And not before time.

crowds are growing? Theyve had the worst start to a season in 13 years

Eh?

Dogs vs Souths got 40k yesterday for a round game, we haven't had crowds like that since the match of the round at the scg years ago that stopped. The capacity of the stadiums didn't allow any crowds like that, now with ANZ and more teams moving games there, we are starting to see plenty of crowds at least double if not triple the capacity of their old home grounds. Got it.

People don't seem to remember that years ago they played most the games during the day and never had Monday or Thursday night games with as many rounds as we have these days and games per week. Think and use your head for once.

Parra, are you denying this is the worst start for crowds in 12 years?

Wow a big crowd the other night, good for you.

The NRL had a crowd yesterday bigger than the swan got today and the Melb Dem got today
Big deal, there will be a bigger crowd on Monday, big deal.

There was 6 or 7k today for Canberra vs Manly in Albury in the rain, not bad, good to see the NRL taking games to regional areas, pity the other codes don't tend to do that as much and take the game to the people who find it hard to get to games, that's two regional games outside the fortnightly regional areas we played in already this year with more to come.

Taking the game to the people, I bet some here put shit on the code for doing such a good thing.
