its been THE premier game of the home and away season for nearly 2 decades. It hasnt lost popularity over night and to suggest so is moronic. Fact is it was one of 4 games played on a Saturday, not an isolated game on a public holiday. It was always going to rate far less than previous years.

Yet it still absolutely spanked the NRL's ANZAC day for ratings and crowds

Sunday ratings: NRL 476k, AFL 573k.

So the AFL beat the NRL in ratings on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday this weekend. Nice

It has been the premier game of the AFL for decades. I agree. Its a fairly new concept to the NRL- but as you can see its working - cyclones, power outages, delays . After all that ratings are up - and the biggest increase was in Melbourne - Wow eee :thumbleft:

The AFL, after decades your ratings plummet(fall through the roof) - And the Biggest decrease was in Sydney(though melbourne) :_<> :_<> :_<> :rock:

The NRL have lots of High rating matches (as we will see over the next few weeks) - the AFL does'nt :rock:

And then Wookie got the gall to make out some sort of success story - bloody pathetic is what it is :(/ :(/ :(/ :/;

The NRL's game isnt new and it isnt even close to the AFL's game for ratings or crowds, so stop your bullshit

Wow, Fox Footy and AFL totally dominate the tv ratings on STV. Remember the days when before Fox Footy when the leaguies used to boast about dominating the top programs on STV. Long gone are those days.

surprised they were that high. Horrible decision by the AFL to show Carlton 3 Friday nights out of 5. Theyve been thrashed each time. In fact there are numerous threads on BF complaining about the AFLs fixturing for FN games this year. 5 rounds in and we are yet to see a single team play that finished higher than 8th last year, let alone a decent match between good teams. What gives???
