The crowds and ratings for the extended version of the bbl has really taken a dive...but no doubt CA Money men have run their numbers and worked out it’s the most money is to be made this way
Australian sporting sponsorship
AFL excess of $50m
A league $30 million plus
ARU $27 million
NRLOL $25 million

This Season of Big Bash was quite different to previous years.

1. more matches were played
2. different final serials.
3. games were played monday to friday in afternoon
4. Bush fires affected games.
5. more games were washed out or affected than any other season (including the Final)
6. more games at smaller / regional centers
7. the final was actually a sell out but only 10k turned up> and somehow game was played. 80mins delayed and shorten

all this considering.. ratings and crowds held up well.

I think tennis needs a version of 20/20. Games are way too long.

Some ideas : get rid of the double fault. Two points for an Ace...go from from 15 to 40 for instance. Power play where the serve square box is enlarged ... maybe different coloured lines for power play . Maybe even teams .... where you have 4 players on each team max two sets each but you can rotate players in the team ....

overall good ratings this BBL which was All over the place sometimes.

Ratings increased year on year..

Channel 7 lost some viewers and fox gained some viewers

I really hope Cricket Australia win the court battle,
which reminds me of what ch9 did to the NRL what the ch7 are doing to the cricket.
