We all know that if you struggle in the Amatuer league, they kick you out and start another team elsewhere so as to try and keep the average crowds up, when the Jets fold, who do you think will get the next shot at the Amatuer league?

Unless he wants to keep them for a Tax Right Off $$

I would say Wollongong or Cronulla / Canberra.

The FFA will never fold the jets. A regional team with 10000 members is too important.

They will take the licence off Tinkler and find a new owner though.q

If the club isnt struggling financially, and has 10,000 members, Id love to see the grounds for removing the team from him.

Fan protests. Check

Pfa complaints, soon

Sure, legally it sounds tough. But the FFA generally gets their way ie Clive palmer

Maybe the Wolves of Wollongong will get a crack.

Probably average better than the central coast off the bat no matter the form.

all things aside (as I don't think the Jets are going anywhere) the only way Wollongong will get in the near future would be a team relocated.

I don't think the next expansion will go there, as the FFA would be seen as being too NSW centric.

I don't think the FFA will release Newcastle to nowhere city. The region is too important to the game. Especially it's rivalry with the Mariners no matter where either team is on the premiership table. Sure they may have those problems SydneyFC spoke of, but they can be fixed without shutting the club down.

I've been a big supporter of a new Wollongong team but gallop seems set on sticking to major cities. Don't agree with it but will trust his judgement as he's made the right calls up until now

And yeah I do reckon Wollongong would be better than the cc

More tradition in Wollongong, I think more derby like for your mob and them as well. Especially with so many of your juniors and fans from the shire

I am surprised they put a team there in the first place. Probably better to cut their losses with Newcastle A league and put teams where they can get better support. I think an ACT or Tasmanian team could work. Go for the bigger places with not many other summer sports.

Newcastle aren't going anywhere, they have a great membership base, and a strong football tradition. Plus northern NSW is a seperate governing body, so an important area for juniors. Newcastle are not going anywhere.

They already have Central Coast down the road though. And Nathan Tinkler has been forced into keeping them afloat by an A league legal contract from what I have heard.

Newcastle just don't seem like a town that love football. Your right about Sutherland area being a good place for one though.

Sutherland is a terrible place for a team. Much of Sydney FC's support is based there, and so is the area where they draw a lot of their development squad

Newcastle love soccer, just not as much as they love Rugby League, if Newcastle had a sustained period of playing good soccer, they'd average well over 15k.
