Apparently Rugby Union kicked AFL out of NSW in the early days.

So this is why AFL is a Southern game. Is funny AFL should probably be hating on Union more than League as they are the code which banned your sport up North. Apparently Union did the same to League in South Africa and Southern England too.

Some interesting sporting history there.

So I am required to take the word of the first poster and not question the content. Is that how it works?

I know Wikipedia isn't the most reliable source going around, but this is a start;

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australian ... les#Sydney

So where does it say union kicked them out? Looks to me like they stuck at it and have been since 1903 consistently, five years before league even started in Sydney!

Here is the link.

http://www.convictcreations.com/footbal ... rugby.html

To summarise the small section Union officials banned AFL from being played on enclosed grounds in Sydney making it hard for the sport and as a result AFL failed with lack of funds.

Rugby league has done well considering Aussie Rules was around in 1874 with a more than a 30 year head start on Rugby League while Union has been around even longer.

Damn Rugby Union, filled with snobs and arseholes who will even go to the extremes of sucking up to the Nazi party to have a rival sport banned and made sure it wasn't played under the threatening of arrest.

There's a good reason why there are two codes of Rugby.

So for instance, if someone says something exists and I disagree I have to prove nothing? How does that work?

For this subject, I see that proof has been provided so someone else doesn't agree with you. They knew I was right to challenge the way I did.

Yeah alot of AFL fans think that Union has helped Rugby Leagues following internationally but has actually been the total opposite!!
Union has done everything it can to stop Rugby Leagues growth!!

League is middle and working class while Union and AFL is more the wealthy peoples game in Sydney.

Knock yourself out.

Then do a search on the old agricultural ground in Sydney when RL was about to kick off just before 1908 to see who controlled all the Sydney playing areas.

They are scum and you only need to read their forums to realizse they would kill every other sport if they could to get to where they know their stupid game will never take them, that's why they hate RL so much, because it got in and changed the things that needed changing, they done this 100 years ago so the code could survive as it had to on gate receipts, not a tax free amateur club taking it all for themselves for 100 years.

If someone says something and you believe its wrong, the onus is on you to show why. Not the other way around. You can ask for links or more information, but simply "prove it" isnt the right way to go about it.

And no one else did it. Literally everyone else in this thread has added to the conversation.
You're a fucking fool. That's like telling me I have to prove there was no ghost. I'm not allowed to just say "There was no ghost" and/or ask for proof that there was a ghost.

I asked for proof of the original statement, and it was provided - including the immediate previous comment. How is that a case of "no one else did it"? I added to the conversation, and for some reason you don't like people wanting proof of statements. It's not a crime to want proof of something. Or is it? You tell me!!

I'm starting to see why King Eliagh wants you to "pick up yer game", as much as he's just as much of a fool if not more so.

So I have to prove a ghost doesn't exist.

Bravo.

Search this fellas stuff, he has looked at all the early history of the sports in different countries and what they done to each other over the years. There should be an old article on the Unionites blocking other sports in Australia (esp Sydney early on) somewhere in this lot, I read it a few years ago when Sean was still posting at various sites.

Would you mind addressing the analogy instead of insulting me? For a person in charge you are making a lousy guidance manager for a newbie.

I'll give you another one. Someone says God exists. Someone else says prove it. Can someone prove God doesn't exist?
