The definition of a national sport;

1. Has a national team that is competitive world wide or;
2. Has a presence in every state/province/county in the country or;
3. Both.

It is possible for a country to have multiple national sports. Australia has several.

18 Countries turned up to the International Cup recently.
The United States and Canada play each other every other year in the 49th Parallel Cup
17 countries turned out to the European Championships in 9 a side, about half that in the full version.

Other countries are playing, just not at the same level. get your fucking facts right.

I've seen pics of some of the AFL comps online and junior soccer looks more professional than the overseas set ups AFL has. Always have a good laugh at AFL Englands facebook with it's few hundred likes.

If rugby league claimed overseas players like AFL does. It would have players in every corner of the globe.
