Just say the two rugby codes were not around but NFL and AFL was, which sport would you choose?

I honestly think I would pick NFL. Watched some NFL games as well as the womens LFL and both seem more entertaining than AFL.

well considering AFL is easily Australias biggest game, it should be NFL or NRL?
it would be NFL easily.
a game of lawn bowls is more exciting & involves more skill than a game League!
you can do it whilst having a few drinks as well :drunk:

Are you kidding ?

one is a sport
The other is a fucking joke :(/  :(/ :_<>

One has big powerful athletes
Their blockers are like our front rowers ... only bigger
They have size.. they have guts

Their wide receivers are like our centres .. wingers ... fullbacks
Massive & fast as grease f ning lightning

Their quarterbacks... our halfs .. 5/8's
Great vision.. great patience. .. conductors of the team

Id prefer seeing monkeys at Taronga zoo throw their feacal matter at each other then watch the derps n oopsies
The monkeys are more skillful
The spectacle is too :(/ :(/ :_<>

exactly dribbler dave, AFL is a sport & RL a joke
skills needed for RL, jog in a straight line with your teammates, when about to be jumped on by the opposition, throw the ball 7 meters to the left or right

Skills needed in AFL.
Catching..nope.
Kicking straight..nope.

Rubbing man boobies with your opponent 100 mtrs away from the ball ...yes
Getting interchanged continuously. ..yes.

That's about it .

Haha AFL Australias biggest game. I guess Australia only has 3 states in it then :(/

NFL is like a cousin of Rugby League. Both sports have conversion kicks, linebreaks, head on collision tackles. The two codes have more in common than AFL has ever had.

I know NFL fans will always relate to Rugby League more than the clumsy fumbler game where you can get a point for missing and drop the ball constantly.
They see AFL and just think :drunk:

NFL for me even though it's the slowest most boring crap on Earth, watchable when all the crap/timeouts/ads are taken out.

Hey, speed it up a bit and it'd be pretty close to RL.

Can't watch AFL, been trying to since the mid 70's, just doesn't do it for me.

Haha AFL is so huge in these other states yet none of them seem to have a national AFL team :_<>
Wow that makes so much sense =D>
I guess AFL is huge in NZ too even though they don't have an AFL team lol

AFL is the laughing stock of the world and half of Australia, get used to it clown. As it won't change

NFL has a similar culture to NRL. NFL coaches have even said some NRL players would do well in their sport.

While AFL has a really dorky image compared to NFL.
AFL has feminine uniforms, dorky team songs, crap team mascots, messy play.

AFL is the sort of sport that you would be ashamed of liking. Kind of similar to saying you listen to One Direction and Justin Bieber. :(/ :_<>

I watch and enjoy both. The Superbowl is an international event and deserves it's high standing. It's heavy on tactical play and if you know what's going on it gives you the time to draw your own conclusions on what play should be next. If you watch enough of one team in a season you can work out a lot of their common plays. It's great fun to try and second guess the team with the ball.

AFL is a much quicker game and from that side of things it beats NFL. But blink and you'll miss something and that's a negative, especially on TV. Live it's not so bad but it's still an issue. I am amazed at the old footage I see with just one umpire. They could not possibly see everything even though the game looks fairly quick even though it seems not as quick as it is now.

I see it as comparing apples and oranges. On TV, I'll go with NFL. Live, I'll go with AFL. But either way it's close.

A desperate response from someone that follows a game played in one country that has zero talent.
Yep that's AFL =D>

A game that is so afraid of people finding hot girls more interesting than their boring as bat shit game that they decide to ban cheerleaders. Yep that's AFL

a game of the absolute talent of league, running in a line with your team mates and throwing the ball to the left or right 7 meters, when about to be tackled! thats skill and talent right there at the highest form :-k
well maybe for you limted basement dwellers :(/

ps about finding hot girls, the only girls that turn up to an NRL game is the cheer leaders, other wise, in the vast empty seats of an NRL game its the, fat arse, basement dweller, hooking in to a cup of tooheys new and downing a bucket of chips
