Why can't aus soccer teams achieve the main objective?

Scoring goals that is. I mean time after time when on the international stage our teams simply can't score goals. It's seriously boring stuff and I wouldn't be surprised if the soccerpuss had the lowest scoring avg of any national team over the last 100 years and probably for all times.

And the wanderers did nothing to change this fact. 1 goal in 180+ mins  and everyone, even the soccer fans on this site, knows they didn't deserve to win the cup  the wanderers = the new Stephen Bradbury

So my members please let's discuss this issue and get to the bottom of it. Why can't Aussie teams score goals when they play on the international stage? Are they nervous? Are they unlucky? Or are they just plain old shithouse? Or is it something else?

To be honest I think they're just plain old shithouse. I've seen games in the third div in the Netherlands which looked the same standard as our national league, if not better. But that's just my experienced position. I know some of the lAds in here like to Bob up and down at sydfc and wanderers games :bounce:  they might have a less international view on things so yeah, let's discuss so we can write to aus soccer hq and tell em why we think australian sides can't achieve the main objective of the game, time after time after time after time.

Oh, and lets debate the topic at hand here folks. I really wanna come to some conclusions as to why the soccer teams of australia are shiiiiiiithouse  If we debate it through together we'll come to some great conclusions.

My first point is that there's little money or interest for the code, hence you dont produce players who can score goals. Am i right or am i right? :thumbleft:

i'll bite, latest world cup, Australia scored 3 goals in our 3 matches, same as Greece, Ecuador, Honduras, Nigeria, Portugal

More than Cameroon, Japan, Italy, ENGLAND, Honduras, Iran, Korea, Russia

Out of 32 teams, Australia scored more than 8 and the same as 5.

So pretty much your question has been shown to invalid, wow, that was easy. NEXT

So so easy, now let's dismiss you on the Wanderers now in the ACL

Group stage 11 goals in 6 matches equla to or more than 27 teams

Knock out stage 7 goals in 4 Games, to WIN the Competition, sorry what were you saying again?

LOL what an idiot I have made you look. 2 simple posts, and you look like a complete idiot, gee it must suck to be you.

Australia scores as many or more than 13 teams in the world cup, and the Wanderers outscored 27 teams in the group stages and then won the competition, so your whole premise is wrong,

Pack up and go home, you are an idiot

Not bad posthoc, finally you provide some evidence rather than screaming like a prepubescent boy who's had his icecream taken from him.

BUT there are problems which we mustnt deny  It's like an avalanche when you google socceroos lack of goals  again I'm right so lets discuss eh? ;)
Desperate to boost Australia's flailing goal-scoring power for next month's tournament, Arnold is set to shift the star Liverpool winger into a central attacking role just behind striker Mark Viduka.

traditionally australia has never been a team that consistently scored a lot of goals against good opposition, not for over a decade now anyways. our strengths are in defensive organization and keeping possession

but also, another problem is generational change. current crop of socceroos simply aren't as good as the ones we had from 2006-2011

a lot of their ages coincide with the demise of the nsl and the introduction of the a-league - the 18th month gap of no football was detrimental to many of these players who would of been in their late teens to early 20's. So we're having to rely on a very, very young team(Cahill, Jedinak, Bresciano aside - most of our team is made up of 21, 22, 23, 24 year olds)

fortunately the joeys(u17s) qualified for the U17 world cup playing some amazing football and all the individual talent in the u20's show things are looking up again. Lots of players in the a-league right now who will become very integral parts for the team in the future

KE, sorry your post has been shown to be bullshit, do, the best you can come back to me is newspaper headlines, one of which was from what 10 years ago? or more.

You said Australia lacked goal scoring ability, I showed that at the last world cup we were about average, do we want to be better, hell yea who doesn't but we were right in the middle and better than 8 other teams.

You also said Wanderers couldn't score and I again showed that in the Asian cup we outscored better than 27 teams or something and won the thing (which means we scored more than others)

The American Samoa result, was when we were part of the Oceania confederation, ie we didn't have a choice who we played, you can only play who is against you. We hold the world record, for us it was similar to Australia playing Canada or Kenya in cricket. You can only play who is in front of you.

So this thread has been exposed as being pointless, just admit it, you tried to take a cheap shot, and you were exposed.

Clearly an easy knock down, the only thing for you to do is walk off tail between your legs. Toodles

Yep its been more than 10 years the socceroos have been shithouse for :(/

And im sorry but those links tell us that Australian coaches and players think the same as me....well, I guess im thinking at that top level  ...while you're thinking at the level of starstruck giddy teen :(/

Aus teams - they've been shithouse at scoring goals for decades my brothers. Why?

who knows

won't stop the millions of people in this country that follow them unconditionally

soccer fans don't revolve around having to win things to support their team. this isn't rugby league where your stadium will empty out depending on your position on the ladder. our fans have shown that we are the most dedicated in the country, not to mention as far as the national team goes - the highest in numbers as well

we're a different kettle of fish to the kangawhos
