holy shiiiiiiiiiiiiiitt fuck yea
in a nutshell
-SBS have paid FOX a separate lump sum for the next 2 weeks to broadcast 2 Saturday games live on SBSone ontop of the Friday games
http://www.a-league.com.au/article/satu ... xfzsz5wpvi
from the outside it looks like sbs and fox are testing if Saturday games are viable as well as the Friday. No doubt it shall be a success and hopefully this will grow into SBS televising at least 1 Saturday or Sunday game a week for the rest of the season
Australian Football fans are in for a double treat over the next two weekends of the Hyundai A-League with two Saturday night blockbusters to be broadcast on SBS ONE and FOX SPORTS 4.
The Round 5 Brisbane Roar v Melbourne City (8 November) and Round 6 Sydney FC v Melbourne Victory (15 November) matches will be broadcast LIVE on free to air television as the Hyundai A-League continues to penetrate the Australian mainstream.
The two Saturday night clashes, including the biggest rivalry in the Hyundai A-League (Sydney FC v Melbourne Victory), will be broadcast on SBS in addition to the usual Harvey Norman Friday Night Football matches.
“These matches being broadcast on SBS and FOX SPORTS are another significant step forward for football in Australia,” said Football Federation Australia CEO David Gallop. “More and more people are connecting with the Hyundai A-League as football continues to grow and having four of the biggest clubs in the A-League broadcast live on a Saturday night on SBS and FOX SPORTS is great news for football fans.
“I’d like to thank FOX SPORTS and SBS for their support in coming to this arrangement.”

Friday, 7 November
Round 5: Adelaide United v Sydney FC (Coopers Stadium)
Live coverage on SBS One HD from 7.30pm (AEDT)

so whats your opinion when dribbler dave. A league selling out stadiums
Selling out which stadiums? Links please.
If they are selling out stadiums, wouldn't that mean they are the only sport in this country to be doing so seeing as the AFL does not sell out every stadium it plays in?
You wouldn't happen to be lying again to try and make your sport look bigger that what it is by lying about two other sports and their real pecking orders?
leagueiscrap wrote:yet NRL playing in stadiums with the sounds of crickets chirping :_<>
Yet the NRL averages more at the stadiums, sell more merchandise, have well over double the memberships blah blah blah oh and $1.2 billion TV deal.
As far as I can tell, the NRL are averaging higher than the A league and have done since the A League began, even before that in their 100 other guises too.
leagueiscrap wrote:ge wonder where the real interest is, the NRL with their imaginary tv figures
Those same imaginary figures you hang your sport on as well as the AFL itself to get the TV rights it thinks it deserves?
Everyone including your beloved AFL is wrong, is that what you are saying LIS?
In lower numbers than S15 RU, NRL and AFL?
Derp!

the a-league has sold out 2 regular season games so far this season with many more to come
the nrl did not sell out a single regular season match, all season....
the a-league is broadcasted live in countries such as india, china, germany, italy, uk, usa, pakistan, indonesia, malaysia, singapore, uae and list the goes on...a reach in the hundreds of millions
the nrl is broadcasted live in a small country by the name of australia and uhh.....madagascar if they're lucky
no nrl clubs can even come within touching distance with sydney fc when it comes to merch, just 1 player
http://thelocalgame.com.au/the-del-piero-effect/
Sydney FC have made an estimated $4.8 million from “Del Piero 10” shirt sales alone, which would cover the cost of his marquee contract.
and the wanderers aren't doing too bad either themselves considering they outsold parra and the tigers in merch sales last season
