After a 43-year wait for an NRL premiership, the South Sydney Rabbitohs and their fans are not tiring of the celebrations.

They continued on Thursday with a parade through Sydney's south before the team received the keys to the city.

Following a fans day at Redfern Oval on Monday, hundreds of Rabbitohs supporters again turned out to see their heroes honoured in the city following the side's first premiership since 1971.

The team was first presented with the keys to Randwick City Council before heading into the the Sydney CBD on an open-top bus.

There, they were greeted by Lord Mayor Clover Moore at Sydney Town Hall and given another set of keys.

Rabbitohs coach Michael Maguire said it was a great honour to receive the keys to the city.

"To get to this point and get the win for all the great fans and for all the great people that have turned out today - what a day," Maguire told the crowd.

Rabbitohs captain John Sutton said his side had "the best fans in the competition".

"They'll support us anywhere and it's great to see them all here today," he said.

they're the biggest nrl club in sydney but from what i read there was only 15k people there to celebrate with them at redfern oval

when arsenal won the fa cup last year 400,000 people were at their celebration. they didn't get no key to the city though

Yeah sure they are.

I have never seen so many people fall for so much spin that watch other sports, talk about taking it all in and getting your fluffy little knickers all wet.

I have already showed you time and time again that south Sydney is not the biggest club in Sydney.

The biggest clubs don't tend to be shit for 43 years (generations) and end up getting kicked out of the competition, it's like calling Sokka the sleeping giant out here. How can they be a sleeping giant when they've never been awake in the first place to show what type of giant they were. It's all a myth and you seem to fall for all of them each and every time :(/

Seriously ,have you ever & I mean EVER started a thread that didn't backfire on you.
IMO it comes down to either
Your insane jealousy of RL & any success ,especially internationally.'

Or you are just plain fucking moronic, with compulsive lying tendencies.

I think a lot of both.

seen heaps of flogs last week wearing south sydney shirts in west sydney and the north shore

some would probably say that makes them a big club to have fans all over sydney

to me it just makes them flogs and gloryhunters

Our little greazy long haired shirt lifter doesnt understand the decades of history that have seen hundreds of thousands of fans of all NRL clubs become scattered all over sydney .. NSW.. Australia. Even the world

Compare that to the oi league
