Fight club betting policy

Well folks in light of wookies recent massive moderating blunder I.e allowing himself to be used as a pawn in a welching game set by our convicted stalker phelpsy/freddy, it's very apparent that the fight club deserves a betting policy as well as a public shaming of wook, who said he'd consult with beaussie but neglected to listen to beaussies urging that the username of Fred be banished and phelps reinstated

> kinda strange consultation if u ask me. But folks while we must shame wook for his cockup, let's give him a chance, he's only human and may well have misread beaussies urging.
So let's set some rules and policies around betting in this thread folks, and have a few digs at wook if ya like also
My contribution is
- bets need to include a clear wager and agreement and cannot be based on assumption as in the KE dwac affair.
- bets must be acknowledged to the fullest by the loser of the bet and no welching is to occur for example changing ur user name to avoid paying up on the bet as our resident stalker Fred did recently.
Beaussie also had some good suggestions which he documented in the forum issues "freddy or phelpsy " thread. I think I agreed with them also.
Please help wook in setting this policy the poor duffer's shown he really needs all the help he can get on this issue

fumblers welching on bets is causing disruption & Ill feeling **** the membership
it is easily fixed
so
I don't know why it wouldn't be fixed
starting with phelpys new username being forced to honour its bet & wear its new avatar & signature
if it doesn't like that
it can fuck off

The_Wookie wrote:yeah accusing me of being used and then asking me for help with anything is going to work.
wook wook wook, what on earth is up with you of late? You seem to be struggling with getting the context.
1. I did not
accuse you of being used. I
stated you were used, which you were, by our resident stalker/welcher phelpsy. You were a pawn in his plan and he played you like a puppet. Look you're prob a busy man and have been a top mod up to this point. We'll forgive ya but please, allow the members their comeuppance to shame you for what's happened in all of this. Or you could reverse your decision. But if this isn't possible, me and the membership will no doubt forgive you...as long as it doesn't happen again
2. I didn't ask
you for help. I asked the
membership for their contribution to support
you in defining a policy.
Might I remind you wook that beaussie wants a policy and he is your senior. You report to him. I certainly hope you know your place in all this or otherwise you'll be up for a rough trot.
Yours in support,
KE - Inaugural member and spokesman for the TF membership

Here's beaussies thoughts on bettin (with his thoughts on the freddy account as a lil reminder to wook

)
beaussie wrote:Perhaps for future betting, we need rules set up on betting and the bets are submitted to the mod once agreement on the terms is reached? Once the bet is finalised, the mod can act if the loser tries to welch? Like most things in TFC, betting has been troublesome for some time (yes I include the drama involving myself and Raiderdave when I say that).
Back to the topic of this thread, now we've seen what Phelpsy was up to, I think it is only fair that Fred's membership is retired.
Yeah, I think beaussies spot on on all fronts there, rare for him but he got it right this time.
Freddy/phelpsy for beaussie to go against an AFL fan is something which only happens when something as dumb as cwacker occurs...you're it bro!

& do the right thing or fuck him off .............. for the good of the forum
he is to add the avatar & signature to his new username .... or leave

Hmmm while I'm not fussed either way I do see daves point. Wookster has the power to act yet hasn't, thus the shenanigans will continue. Freds kinda rubbin it in ur face there wook.
Beaussie and the members have spoken. Noone's backing phelpsyS open public welch, what morally sound individual would?
As a tf inaugural member I urge you to consider taking some kind of action to atleast save ur face in all this wook, it's bad for the site to see a mod resting on his laurels in such an open and shut case. Particularly so after site admin has suggested action and you have taken inaction as ur modus operandi.... The members really need to see consistency across the leadership and ur really letting team tf down on that front wook...

The_Wookie wrote:I was clear on this from the start, I dont care about your little bets. I still dont.
If beaussie wants something done it gets done. Its his forum. Ive no instructions from him to do anything at this point, and Ive acted within the rules as they currently stand.
For all that, the policy is under review, especially as it seems to now be taking over the entire subforum.
I'm with you Wookie. I care little for this bet in question. Can't just make new rules and apply them to something that has already occurred. That said, I'd be in favour of new rules being put in place for future bets considering how troublesome betting has been around this place to date.
