it looks like david smith's plan for the NRL is going down the sink along with the popularity of the game of league after all of the hype and publicity that the packers and Murdoch's gave the game over the past decades
well the NRL is about to be at seasons end, with a round or so to go plus the game between the gummy sharks and cocksucking cowboys to night, just how much lower will the crowds go?
again they have had a drop in season averages
15748k a -1.2% drop on last season figures which also suffered a drop in already pathetic crowd numbers
a game that is meant to be the dominate code in Australia's largest city of shitney
the swans has had an increase in numbers
so have GWS
the local soccer A league resident im sure could please fill us in how his favorite code is going?
so for the NRL its

They talk about raising crowds, but they really don't care. It's all about ratings for them, as evidenced by putting their blockbusters on Thursday night with little if any regard for hte impact on crowds.

Yes AFL is increasing, but only slightly, and you forget to mention you are playing catchup. With this very slight increase, AFL is still only back to the levels by average of attendance in 2002 and by numbers attending, back at levels of 2009 at best. You guys are blowing your load a little early aren't you.
http://afltables.com/AFL/crowds/summary.html
http://stats.rleague.com/rl/crowds/summary.html
NRL missing last 2 rounds in this table, 130k already this round, averaging 18.5k so far
Meanwhile NRL are down on attendance by around 160k on the entire attendance of last year. With 9 games to go and you post this shit, coupled with numerous excuses in other topics about games on shit days as an excuse for your number (which is also happening in NRL).

:>::
If we get an average of 17-18k over the last 9 games, then we are actually up for the year. =D>
I don't think we will get the same average as last year. But out of interest the average for round 26 last year was over 21k. Give the roosters and souths are playing, I think the 17-18k is achievable.
So now the AFL ladies [-o<

the AFL stays at a stable 30k+ whereas the NRL has never done 17k or more and have showed significant signs of mass decline

the NRL crowds have done stuff all over the last decade. that figure i posted was the most up to date figure so far of the NRL crowds.
with all of the promotion, & david smith publicly stating that crowds needs to rise it looks like the NRL will have another fall
in the early 2000s the MCG did have several up grades, the Members, ponfords and Olympic stands all being rebuilt.
added in the crowd drops of
as for the crowd drops for 2011 & 2012 and increase afterwards, that is due to a number of things, GCS and GWS coming in to the league being played in non heartland areas in smaller stadiums. clubs hawthorn and north melbourne playing game in tassie as well as teams playing games in NT as well as cairns.
thats the AFL's excuse for the crowd drops
whats the NRL's

The AFL have increased averages two years running now after suffering the inevitable drop in averages when they introduced two expansion teams. How were they going to maintain a 37k average when including two new teams who were expected to average less than half that crowd

If you're too stupid to factor in this massive change you're beyond help.

Had a South Sydney Rabbitohs mate with me at footy on Saturday afternoon. He couldn't believe Swans got a bigger crowd than his top of the table, "Pride of the League" Rabbitohs attracted a coupe of nights earlier.
25k for NRL
31k for AFL
RL heartland
