NSW cup ,FIJi residents playing out of FIJI will be playing in the 2016 comp.
As well as an NZ side.
2nd tier RL is far more international than AFL can ever hope to be.

Fiji NSWRL Bid led by Petero Civoniceva & Greg Browne Secure Rights for NSW Cup Franchise
Petero Civoniceva & Greg Browne are proud to announce that they have secured the rights for a franchise rugby league team to play out of Fiji in the New South Wales Cup Competition in 2016. The Fiji Bid Team have received endorsements from the New South Wales Rugby League Board, along with the Fiji National Rugby League and the Fiji Sports Council.
"Our aim is to provide an affordable and exciting atmosphere for all fans and professional opportunities for our local playing squad, who will train full time in our training base in Suva. Our Home Ground will be the National Stadium- ANZ Stadium, Suva."
"Our vision is to be the most popular club in the New South Wales Cup to supporters in Fiji and in Sydney. Financial viability will be assured through building strong partnerships through our Government and Corporate partnerships. The franchise will provide pathway and development programs from juniors through to seniors and will showcase the tremendous Fijian playing talent. This will also provide great exposure for Fijian companies throughout the Australia- Pacific region and promote Fijian Sports Tourism".

The talent these Island nations have for full contact footy codes is unbelievable, with PNG and Fiji having teams in the feeder comps at least, that means the national sides will more or less become pro within a few short seasons. last nights Parra v Souths game had at least 3 Fijian players running around.

I'm happy for afl to remain an Australian comp ... Sure explore around for talent but just like American football, Australian football does exceedingly well as a domestic comp.
