A so called sports reporter has no idea..
Aussie NBA stars crash live cross
Wed, 16 Jul 01:30 PM
An Australian sports reporter has endured one of the most embarrassing moments of his life after failing to recognise NBA champions Patty Mills and Aron Baynes.
Julian de Stoop was in the middle of a live cross in Melbourne, reporting on AFL issues, when the San Antonio Spurs videobombed him with the coveted Larry O’Brien trophy.
"Larry, Larry O'Brien Trophy, yeah. Go Spurs," Mills yells as Baynes laughs and holds the trophy that is handed out to the NBA’s Championship team each year.
The pair are two of only four Australians to have won an NBA title and though they’ve made headlines around the world, de Stoop failed to recognise them and didn’t see the funny side.
"Get off, boys", the reporter says as he pushes the injured Mills.
"There's always some idiots down here," he adds as he attempts to regain his composure.
It wasn’t long before de Stoop was made aware of the oversight, but in explaining himself, he appeared to dig himself into a deeper hole.
"I thought they were a couple of Collingwood nuffies,” he said.
He later wrote a column online, apologising to Mills for the gentle shove and wishing him all the best with his recovery.

I know who Patty Mills is. I know he was brought up in the Canberra region, he's an indigenous Australian, I know he played AR and basketball as a kid and he was excellent at both, I know he got his place in the Australian institute of sport after Scott Pendlebury dropped out, I sort of know what he looks like. Could I pick him out of a crowd? I'd have no chance. As to the other guy. I've got no idea who he is.

As well as playing basketball, Mills also played underage Australian rules football at a high level. He represented the Australian Capital Territory at the 2004 Under-16 National Championships, and, after being named the tournament's best and fairest player, was pursued by recruiters from the Sydney Swans, an Australian Football League team.[6][7] At the age of 15, Mills was selected for the ACT's under-18 basketball squad to compete in the Australian National Championships. The following year, Mills accepted a full-time basketball scholarship with the Australian Institute of Sport. He replaced a player who had dropped out of the program, Scott Pendlebury, who had dropped out to (successfully) pursue an AFL career.[6] He also made a strong impression at the 2005 Australian Olympic Youth Festival, an event considered to be a showcase for future elite sporting talents.[4]

I'm not expert on him obviously, however the current Collingwood (the team I barrack for) captain got into the AIS basketball academy when he was young, however he decided to drop out to play AR. Guess who got his spot? P Mills.
Patty was also a very good AR player. So it's been interesting for me and other Collingwood supporters from this point of view..... Lol RD he talks about AR a lot

anyone can be a very good VR player .. a pulse is all that's required
sports that require skill need a young lad to take off the skirt ... & grow up
hence Patty got a dose of reality
continue to fumble , bumble & miss ... & see Werribee
play a real sport
& see Washington
