well Origin is over for this season & has seen sell out crowds & large TV ratings. But as per usual none of the hype follows on to the NRL, only proving, no one could give a crap about League & the state vs state gimmick only works so far

You got to give it to SOO .. Crowds, interest, ratings. The AFL and nrl would love to replicate that success throughout their seasons but they are two different beasts ... One is a show case event over three games so it can magnify the focus and sustain the interest. It's a great concept that works for rl. It's day has past for AFL for many reasons although players and the AFL would live to have it.

The question is ,Why does something that is supposed to be only a "GIMMICK" upset the Fumblers so much.?

I don't think it does ... I think you'd like to think it does but it doesn't. I think the responses are likely more akin to your hatred of AFL... That is people celebrating the success of league in this country by pointing to SOO. I think everyone appreciates the success of SOO and will get on board ... But go to the extreme of trying to real in the linking to how well nrl is going. A bit like your constant need to put AFL down and frustration at the so called hype and misreporting you believe there is of how well the AFL is going.

Theres a difference between being upset and being bemused by it. The data does suggest a drop off in crowds during origin, which pick up after origin but never to the same level as they were before the series started.
In 2012
- PreOrigin Crowds averaged 17,416
- Crowds during the Origin Series averaged 14,313
- Crowds post origin averaged 16,597
In 2013
- Pre Origin crowds averaged 17,365
- Crowds during Origin series averaged 13,586
- Crowds post origin averaged 15,832
So far in 2014
- Pre Origin Crowds averaged 16,984
- Crowds during the Origin series averaged 14,366
so
what you're saying is this was the best attend origin period in the last 3 years
& was nearly 900 a game better then last year
good to know
oh &
you might be bemused by a fall in attendances post origin
Adumbo is a froathing fucktard about it

Wookie this is the exact Mirror image of what happened after the NRL season last yr when the RLWC was on.
The foaming & frothing at the mouth ..the outright lies(Swines is still telling them) the Thread after thread started by insanely jealous Fumblers tells me upset does not begin to describe how upset any REP RL makes these mongs.
Only difference is SOO is during the season.
& I cant wait for the FOUR Nations at the end of the yr.
For the fumblers it will be Rinse repeat rinse repeat ..all the while denying they are jealous.

Your going to argue with the data?
I'm going to argue that I have watched RL for years and you guys have NOT.
I am going to say, I have seen SOO crowds lower than ordinary club games because it is true.
I am also going to argue that a lot of times, the NRL GF and big games have out rated SOO easily.
Now you can say blah blah blah I know everything because only 3 years ago they started showing SOO live nation wide, what about before then you know it all AFL fans?
So tell me all you know about what has and hasn't rated or gotten a decent crowd over the years, over to the know alls.

The day an AFL fan is jealous of the NRLs crowd averages is a very long way off. We'll still get close to 6.8 million through the gate this season - more than every other professional league and sport combined in this country, despite no internationals, no origin or other representation.
All in victoria.
