Hi guys and gals

Well it's come to my attention that there is a real lack of knowledge about what it's like to play footy, and I mean marngrook and rl here. Many of our members have shown time and time again how clueless they are when it comes to things like aggression, mistakes and skills which are required when playing both codes. And not to offend here but it's our AFL supporters who show an unfathomable degree of ignorance.

So! I'm here to help
Having played both codes and played well in both codes I think I'm the only one on here who has the authority and the know how to tell you clowns what it's like, what skills each code needs and really provide you with the players perspective

I tried to start this up in my other thread but it isore appropriate it has it's own thread.

So guys, gals, don't be shy now. Ask me just what it's like on the pitch and please, if you want to tap into my unique knowledge, try and ask comparative style questions here. I.e which code is tougher to play etc etc etc

Ah yes fair question there aflcrap1. Marngrook players can be uncoordinated at all levels. There's plenty of fumbling and it's often intentional fumbling, if there is such a thing. The missed kicks thing is also true and I think the cheap shots is actually more prevalent at AFL than grassroots level. The missed kicks stuff was really interesting for me to see. I think it happens more than say in rl when a player has a conversion in front. My explanation for this would be that although kicking is a fundamental skill of the sport some guys really haven't developed it that well. Baffles the mind a bit but ruck men for example aren't primarily responsible for kicking goals but even still they are needed to kick a lot yet still some of em, even at the elite level have two left feet so to speak.

Oh didims getting a bit precious are we - oh tell the big bad AFL poster to piss off - well let me ask this - kids play hand ball all the time at school - passing a footy should present no real problem but why is it the RL footballers regularly have trouble with it and continue to knock it on time and time again - last nights match Titans v Storm was laughable they dropped the ball so much - missed MANY kicks in front of goal with NO pressure!!!!!! I think you guys should cast your critical eyes your own backyard before you pass judgements on an opposing code - in comparison to RU, RL players look like unco-ordinated tools! AFL on the other hand 70 meter goals UNDER pressure, have to handball under pressure, run and bounce under pressure and do it for far longer and further - there is no competition really!

So the answer to ur questions is no. But a large portion of older rugby players do have the physical descriptions you pose. They're generally strong and tough blokes who, unlike their AFL counterparts, have rejected metro sexuality and the feminisation of men. As for the rectum q's, you're being silly or have some strange fantasy you want me to help u fulfil. In either case I won't stand for it swines! Pull yer socks up!!
