DOSA seeks retribution - Final replay launches Old Scholars

Post by Matrix »

From: Southernfootball.com.au

THE Old Scholars Football Association roster starts tomorrow, with the highlight of the opening round a replay of last year's grand final between DOSA and Richmond.
In other games Hutchins is at home to Friends', and St Virgil's meet OHA. University has the bye.
With Darren McConnon at the helm, DOSA will be out to avenge last year's grand final defeat when it takes on the reigning premier at Dominic.
DOSA has recruited Kim Harvey, Peter Jeckic and Paul Lennox to bolster its attack.
Along with attacking defenders Brendan Loveless, Jason Coad and Todd Ferguson, creative midfielders Darren and Mark McConnon, Joel Neilson and on-ballers Jason Ratcliffe, Rodney Callinan and Ivan Ransley, they could provide a lot of headaches for Richmond.
Danny Munnings is in charge of Richmond, which has recruited well, with midfielder Dale Wood, on-ballers Glendon Bentley, Darren McGuinniss, Damian Mayer and Sam Cunningham, defenders Patrick Turner and Matthew Evans, and forward James Dunn. The reliable Cameron Johnson, Chris Ross, Damian Wickham and Martyn Sward head a strong list from last year.
Hutchins opens its season against Friends' at Queenborough.
New Hutchins coach Gary Fewkes will be confronted with a team-building process, though he will have the experienced Marcus Windsor, Richard Wilkinson, Jason
Samec and Josh Bean, with Adam and Richard Palfreyman leading from the front.
Much is anticipated from the exciting Finn Dorney, Dion McKay, Sam and Jack Madden, and Alex Thomson.
Friends' could be the dark horse of the competition, with new coach Batthew Barry and Sam Bowering bringing experience and skill to the side.
Jason Frawley is training superbly and looks set for another cracker season, while Cody McPhie, Tom Murray, Zac Batchelor, Chris and Baden Bowles, Angelo Pavlides and Craig Ribbon lead a group that has the ability but needs more consistency.
St Virgil's, looking to improve this season after failing to make the finals, meets OHA at New Town.
Premiership player Jarrod Free has returned as coach and is keen to see the club start the season full of running.
He will be well supported by experienced players Matthew Ferguson, Ross Wise, Brad Hastie, Nick O'Reilly and Damian Lowe, plus the pacy Sam Riley and Jamie Foster.
Damien Geason, Rohan Monk and Conan Ziegeler are among a group who have been recruited back to the club, and this group could cause problems for their opposition.
OHA has countered player losses with a recruiting drive that has seen former Clarence players Adam Kauffman, Ben Tomlin, James Tierney and Mathew Zukauskas, plus
ex-Glenorchy player Jamie Walker join the club.
The experience and talent of Gareth Houston, Jonathan Tew, Jason Freeman, Martyn Kroon, Jeremy Stuart and Richard Wilson should see OHA a very competitive unit.
