its quite staggering
thousands less Spazbournians turning up to be a part of de cwowd at a Bwockbuster :?>

its a clear indication of the waning appeal of this tired .... unappealing & quite mediocre comp
have these brain washed gimps down there finally woken up to the fact their comp is a compromised pile of puke

that some sides getting ridiculous advantages over others is now so much on the nose that they have had enough & are starting to
dare I say it
turn their back on their beloved fumbles & feebles
8-[

have a ganda at the thousands missing so far in 2014 that were there in 2013 .. in brackets the 2014 crowd

2013
Carlton V Richmond 80,971 ( 62,037)
Collingwood V Carlton 84,247 (68,251)
Carlton V Ess 82,639 ( 62,730)
Rich V Coll 81,950 ( 62,100)
Rich V Ess 84,234 ( 74,664)

nearly 100,000 less to just those 5 games up to round 11

is their bumbling world falling apart ? :-k
   :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :_<> :_<> :_<> :_<> :_<> :_<> :_<>
almost certainly folks

What are the Factors for this happening?

My Guess.........

1. Blockbuster ticket price gauging cutting out all the neutrals from these games.
2. Disgruntled Melbourne fans over COLA.
3. Economic conditions.

Feel free to add more points.

yes
when you bump a ticket price up from $5 to 7$
that rules out many spazbournians

Theres at least two factors in play.

1) variable ticket pricing is new this year, and is actively discouraging people from going.
2) the sunday night twilight and night timeslots are hated by football supporters. (Carl v Coll, Carl v Ess).
3) Dreamtime at the G is just Richmond and Essendon woefully out of form.

You did however leave out ANZAC Day which was 91,171 (down slightly from 93,373), and Geelong v Hawthorn (80,222 down from 85,197).

The AFL fucked up pricing and scheduling this year. COLA has nothing to do with it, economic conditions probably not either.

what puzzles me more, is why an NRL fan would be gloating about this when ALL of this crowds are greater than anything the NRL has got this season - most by a fair way.

The above doesnt include matches from this week
was going to say you for the 75k that turned up last nite to watch 2 team sitting down the lower end of the ladder.

your opinion only wookie

many fumblers Ive spoken to have had enough of the way their club is treated by the VFL
they feel taken for granted ... oh .. we can do want we want ... our fans are too dopey to care [-( [-( [-( [-( [-(
well it seems they're starting to
& it could be argued this is having an effect with many staying home

the system is ridiculous
& it compromises the integrity of the entire comp
the SWines
Midgets & Thuns need to have the same benefits as everyone else

& if that means they all struggle to be competitive
well that indicates that the fumbles & feebles is not the national sport it makes itself out to be & it has not made the progress north of the murray over the last 32 years it claims it has [-X [-X [-X [-X [-X [-X [-X [-X [-X

its pretty fair to say that those NRL figures are the final fudged figures not the actual real figures

it will be awesome when WA get their new 65k seat stadium, as they are some what restricted at subiaco, their crowds will continue to rise, while the NRL still be struggling to reach 17k :(/ :(/

they aren't getting the benefits of the other 3 nthn sides are because they had a falling out with Andy Ididaphoo & he took it away
they told him where to go
he took their COLA

& they've never been the same since

does that make you angry QueerisVFL ? :-k

I think the ticketing costs that they brought in for blockbusters ... I agree it is gauging and people want stand for it. I expect it will be gone next year or even once Gillan comes in

moron raider, go ahead and check the crowds in WA
people pay $70 to be on a waiting list for an Eagles membership and their is a 8 year waiing list
and freo now have a waiting list for membership with the dockers :>::

Australian have woken up and signing up for AFL, and loosing interest in the shit shot known as league, but that's ok they can play in empty stadiums because they always have their poke and gaming venues to pay for their existence, like they already do :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/

No Gloating here Wookie

I am just pointing out that crowds will effect the AFL's bottom line..........................................the AFL's bottom line as it stands from the Annual report stands at 7million profit for 2013.

All it takes is some shocks....................ie crowds going down and it can be a slippery slope, you get my drift?

Crowds being 12% down in Melbourne is no flash in the pan.......................something is up and to ignore this would spell trouble for the AFL imo.
