State of Origin is a joke

clubs sending in their players for a novelty game only for a few of them to return back injured.
It also leads to in-balanced games during the state of origin period with players being left out of their sides for origin, causing teams who would usually win to lose.
So to sum everything up in one little bubble
Origin creates an un even competition and now poor clubs like the storm will stuggle with their player/s being injured

I remember when RL test matches were played and other rep knockout games during the week (70's mid 80's) on FTA when we only had 3 or 4 max stations, wonder how those ratings went back then compared to now?

The_Wookie wrote:It really does make me wonder how the AFL can honestly look at that kind of rating and just shrug its shoulders.
there has been a bit of a push mainly from the media, for the return of origin for AFL, not sure how seriously how they would be looking at the idea at AFL house, some of the AFL players are keen for it
TWO OF THE game's biggest stars in Gary Ablett and Scott Pendlebury are leading the push to bring back representative football in 2016.
Last week the AFL announced a change to how it would pick this year's International Rules Series team, with only players who have earned All Australian selection eligible.
But the players are keen to regenerate the representative football format, with a 2013 survey of 80 of the game's elite having recorded a unanimous desire to breathe life back into the state of origin concept.
"The [AFL Players' Association] have kept us informed and we've been involved in putting the proposal together, so hopefully we can get it up with the AFL in 2016," Ablett told aflplayers.com.au.
"I really enjoyed growing up watching the champions of the game playing together. It'd be great to get the same opportunity, and I'm sure fans would love it too."
Pendlebury is another star player who has not hidden his passion for representative footy.
"I've been a big supporter of this," he told the website.
"I understand it's not without its challenges, and that we need to work through these issues, but I don't think this should stop it from going ahead.
"I'm confident we'll get there eventually and it'll be exciting for everyone involved once we do."

A record for Game 1, game 2 predictions ................4.3m. If QLD win game 2 then game 3 could be huge.
