I've been toying with the idea of a NSW SOO squad and if they come up against QLD and Tassie who would have the better side so here is my line up - over to QLD and Tassie followers
Bk. Rampe Phil Davis Duryea
HBK. Suckling LRT. Terlick
Cnt. Bird. Jack. Langford
HF. Bruest. Tex Walker. Isaac Smith
Ff. McVeigh Tom Hawkins . Cunningham
Foll: Mcintosh. Hayes, McGlynn
Int From: B Jack, Armstrong, Addison, Schnider, Cross, Josh Bruce, Sam Gilbert, Tom Young, Jarrod Witts, Sam Rowe
I think although would be beaten by Vic or SA could give WA a run for their money!

I don't think it's possible to venture an opinion on that until you show what you think all the sides would be, Swans. Sorry if that's a tall order.

Would love to see a place for SoO on the AFL calender and not the Allies rubbish those of us in NSW/ACT, Qld, NT and TAS were expected to get behind. Who could ever forget NSW beating the Big V in the early 90s.
You're right Swans4ever, I reckon that team you've listed would give WA a real challenge.

Tassie only has 32 players in the AFL with the only stand out being Jack Reiwolt, Nathan Grima, Bellchambers, only 32 players from Tassie, 51 from NSW and 42 from QLD. Tassie would definitely need top up players from the TFL and VFL so I don't think they would be competitive. Here's the link for AFLT

An Indigenous/NT AFL side would be competitive.

The NSW defence coudn't control Tippet and Riewoldt, so QLD would win in my opinion.

You must be from QLD NRLcrapper - I think NSW back line has a great backline - 3 premiership players and another who has played finals - QLD does not have the midfielders or the fwd line - thet'd get smashed!!

No I agree with NRLC about the backline, Swans. I don't think the presence of premiership players makes any difference to it. NSW may have a slightly better midfield with Jack in the centre but I'm not a big fan of their forward line to be honest. I don't think Hawkins is a full forward, unlike Tippet.
Let's see your Tasmanian side.

Sorry TLPG when I looked at the Tassie side I really didn't recognise many of the names which is a bad sign apart from those I mentioned that stood out - again only 32 so not a lot of dept. How can you go past - LRT, Suckling, Duryea, Rampe - even Staker is more quality than the majority of QLD. As for mid, not just Jack but Lenny Hayes, McVeigh, Langford Wherese QLD only has Beams of 1st class quality. Whilst I agree and would rather Tippett over Hawkins (my own bias aside) I still would prefer overall the likes of Cunningham, McGlynn and Tex Walker (particularly over Jesse White at the CHF role). But I suppose that's what the point of the thread is about.

As for Coaches who would be for QLD, I'd have Longmire for NSW/ACT.
