No, I don't think the AFL will ever dominate the Gold Coast. They might gain a majority but that will be the best they will get.

No I don't think it will dominate, NRLCrap1. I believe there is a good rugby league presence locally on the Gold Coast.

Which will be swamped by the Suns!

As a resident with admirably an AFL bias (that is I tend to be drawn to AFL type news), there is definitely a strong AFL presence on the Gold Coast. But rl still dominates. Kids mainly follow the nrl and at my sons school not many kids play... Although it is soccer they play at breaks. There is a lot of media for both codes, this week naturally it has been a lot of suns, given no nrl played. It was a good week for the suns to have that win. What people may not realise on here however is that the same passion that some hate AFL, such as AFL crap and dave, just really doesn't exist on the Gold Coast. A lot of people follow both, are indifferent at worst to the other code. It is still largely nrl but AFL is strong ... Much stronger than it is on Brisbane. But people must also realise other sports are strong too such as surfing, which would probably have a higher participation rate than either code ... I'm half joking .... But could well be. I know as a surfer myself how busy the beaches are everyday. !!!

We have heard every yr since the Murderers son joined the Suns ,that the GC thuns will take over .
They will get bigger crowds ..
Hasn't happened yet .
But good to see the dick pulling is still strong with some fumblers.

I think they have higher membership and crowds were pretty much even last year . Media coverage at best would slightly favour the nrl ... Although this week all suns. The growth in the suns and how they have become a part of this town and how the town is embracing them has been quite good actually . It doesn't mean the nrl is dying here or people are turning away from rl ... It's a both/and type situation not either/or. Not sure why you take AFL growth so personally AFL crap? Does it really matter ?

Do not call Gary Ablett Senior a murderer, AFLcrap1, unless you can prove it in which case you should take that proof to the police.
