Gees Louise, look at those crowd averages (in particular, the trend) for the past 5 years.
2007 - 21489
2008 - 21618
2009 - 19178
2010 - 17877
2011 - 15428
2012 - 14405
2013 - 14028

By all reports, the crowd yesterday for the Titans vs Tigers was fudged too. Same old fudging practices still in place it seems. Imagine what the real decline in crowd averages is on the Gold Coast for the NRL?
RL heartland

If only they could fudge the money these imaginary spectators would have brought in.
People who attended the Suns game on Saturday would have experienced an amazing atmosphere and seen a team on the rise. Can only do good things for word of mouth and getting these casuals to attend more games. Contrast that with the Titans' horrid on-field display, with zero atmosphere and (apparently) sunburn all round, i'd be amazed if the casuals that turned up on Sunday will be back any time soon.
Suns on the up, Titans in worlds of trouble.

well not bad when theey have been on the bottom end of the ladder in the 3 years of being in the compition
unlike the titans who has played in finals series and crowds still keep falling, even after they have done their fudging of the numbers & free ticket give aways, they still keep falling
the way the NRL is going they will need to employ these blokes to sing their down down ads
down down the NRL crowds are down, down down the NRL ratings are down, down down the NRL is going down

Be careful. The only club that I recall fudging figures has been the Bunnies. Is there proof that the Titans have done it?

there are a few articles floating around,
MELBOURNE Storm chief executive Ron Gauci has declared reported crowd figures are commonly inflated to make clubs look better - but not by the Storm this year.
Gauci was answering questions in relation to the Storm's past three home games at AAMI Park drawing less than 10,000. The games against Newcastle (9460), Canberra (9628) and Cronulla (9733) are traditionally among the less appealing to home crowds, but the appeal of a modern, purpose-built rectangular stadium and a team embarking on a year of redemption, have seemingly not helped.
However, Gauci said he was happy with attendances this year - crowds have averaged 12,744 over eight home games - and accused the previous administration, headed by former chief executives Brian Waldron and Matt Hanson, of inflating the figures. It was a practice, Gauci said, that commonly occurred in sporting clubs.
Both Waldron and Hanson declined to comment on the claims last night.

''I believe it's not isolated to Melbourne Storm or in fact the NRL,'' Gauci said.
''It was brought to my attention that most sporting clubs do that in terms of adjusting their numbers.
''We made it very clear when I arrived that we would record numbers as they are presented to us as an accurate reflection of the barcode scanned at the turnstyles.
''We record accurate numbers based on bar scans and as reported to us by Ticketek and then we'll be able to do better year-on-year comparisons in future years.''
An NRL spokesman said he did not accept that misrepresentation of crowd figures occurred. There were no plans to oversee the auditing of the numbers.

You get nothing from me until you address this post.
Lastly the point of the post was to disprove
AFLCRAPPER's suggestion there is no meaningful presence - you'll see the opening post was about total participation is a lot higher with Auskick figures - he kept asking for the number of registered players - I gave it now he has gone silent.
You made a claim about me which was a straight out lie,& you have still not shown where i said that.
So until you can prove something(other than you're a lying little turd),then dont expect me to answer any of your posts..
Man up & admit you lied...
Come on you liar

Yes.
Where is the link then?
Adamj1300, you should read that article again and recognise that Mr Gauci lied. That's why his predecessors refused to comment. His generalisation to "all sport" (not just NRL) is unsustainable.
