Rugby league will never make it to the Olympics because not enough countries play it to an equal level. It's the same for AFL.

Rep games may be the highlight in your code but our season is. 3 or so games v 200.

A code that has as it's highlights rep games is a code in big trouble.

a lazy 50,000 turned out in Auckland yesterday .... if the venue had been bigger it would have been 60,000
Brilliance ... some bumbling fun too , costumes galore with a carnival atmosphere amongst this very well behaved crowd ... 13 of the 16 sides still in contention going into the 2nd day today
& the commonwealth games saying hey ... we want this .. its awesome
The Olympics will be beaconing soon enough

its popularity remains focused in one half of one country , with some small enclaves of support in the other half
& it has barely moved a millimetre in 100 years plus ..anywhere else outside of Australia
its clubs are failing financially with the VFL being drained of its cash reserves to keep nearly half of its clubs operating

no rep program
no international competition for its best players
its players humiliate themselves by being thrashed by Irish pig farmers every 2 years in a hybrid circus that is becoming less interesting each series

I mean .. fuck me
how bleak is the future of this game
