As much as I hate to say it, Eddie is generally good for footy (when he is not commentating Collingwood games that is). He's brought exposure that wouldn't have normally happened just by being who he is as the face of Channel 9.
It worries me however that he is Collingwood president and the face of Channel 9 whilst being privy to the up coming FTA TV rights negotiations (as an AFL club president). I'm sure I'm not the only footy supporter who thinks Eddie has a conflict of interest here? Just listen to what he says about Channel 7 & 10 bidding for the AFL on the Footy Show.
Also don't ask him to comment on developments in the northern states. He seems to have a real problem with the Swans and the Lions, particularly the Lions. Wonder why that is?

Eddie is definately good for the promotion of football i agree with you on that perspective. Eddie commentating Collingwood games im sure has not just got on my nerves at times, but many other non Magpie supporters.
I think Eddie Maguire has so many roles in different places that he wants to make them all work, but they are just coinciding with one another. Eventually he's going to slip, and in my eyes if one slips they all slips.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens in the future and where he takes football, god... it makes it sound like he owns it.
